Chapter 50 - Merging ritual

The next day I spent calculating the Path of sun , moon and Orbit of Earth with Astronomy Skill To determine when the solar eclipse would occur .

Talking of Solar eclipses I will tell you how this Ritual works the concept of this Ritual is merging where The Sun Represents a Entity and Moon another when they align with each other an eclipse occurs which represents merging and by channeling that energy we Cast the spell while offering a sacrifice whose value depends on The difficulty of Merging process .

AUTHORS NOTE:

Do You all like this ritual below I took time to research it .Make lots of comment in this chapter and give your thoughts.

This ritual has Three variations Each Aligning with a type of Eclipse and each has its efficiency those are :

Solar eclipse efficiency you can view it as Internet speed representing the speed at which the merging occurs you would be thinking what the merging speed have to do the ritual but if you notice every Eclipse lasts just a little over a minute or two .

If you view it as The difficulty of merging as a File size and and efficiency as internet speed and you get a little window of time in which you have to complete the merging process now the efficiency feels important Right .

1. With Partial solar eclipse you get the least efficiency but those eclipses lasts for a long time for 1-2 hours or so .

2. With Annual solar eclipse you get the maximum efficiency which is 5 times the partial one During the Ring of Fire , However The maximum duration of Ring of Fire is approximately 10 minutes while most only last less than 5min . The entire event, Including partial phases lasts for an hour or two .

3. Total solar Eclipse You get the 100x Efficiency its like upgrading from Kbps to Gbps in which its maximum efficiency is during the TOTALITY when sun is completely covered by Moon which lasts for only about a Minute or two at most .The entire event, including partial phases is about 1-2 hours from start to finish during which merging is to be completed or wait until next one .

You ask why does Total eclipse gives the most power it's because Total solar eclipse is a incredibly Rare event in the Cosmos , You will think Why is it rare event a total solar eclipse occurs approximately every 18 months then how is it rare .

But here's the Catch: the whole spectacle is only possible because of a cosmic coincidence that's practically one in a gazillion!

Our Moon, while much smaller than the Sun, just happens to be about 400 times closer to Earth than the Sun is—and it's also about 400 times smaller than the Sun. This makes their apparent sizes match almost exactly from our point of view on Earth. So when the Moon passes directly between us and the Sun, it fits just right to block out the Sun completely, casting its shadow on Earth and giving us the rare sight of a total solar eclipse.

Now, let's put that in perspective. There are trillions of other planetary systems out there, but it's incredibly rare for everything to align so perfectly. We're lucky to live in a place and time where this cosmic phenomenon is even possible—we're talking lottery odds rare!

And that's not all total solar eclipses—they're not just rare; they're on a ticking cosmic clock!

You see, the Moon is slowly but surely drifting away from us, moving about 3.8 centimeters (1.5 inches) farther from Earth each year. It doesn't sound like much at first—just a few centimeters! But over millions of years, those tiny steps add up. The Moon's retreat is due to tidal interactions with Earth, which is gradually transferring some of Earth's rotational energy to the Moon and nudging it farther into space.

And here's why that matters for total solar eclipses: as the Moon moves away, it appears slightly smaller in the sky. Eventually, it will no longer be able to fully cover the Sun from our perspective. So, instead of the awe-inspiring total eclipses we get now, future generations will see only annular eclipses—where the Moon appears too small to cover the Sun entirely, leaving a "ring of fire" around it.

This means that total solar eclipses are a limited-time offer, and our time is running out! In a few hundred million years (give or take), they'll be gone for good. Earth will become a planet where solar eclipses are always partial or annular—no more perfect, total blackouts of the Sun.

/*AUTHOR'S NOTE: So enjoy it while you get the chance */

Back to calculating the next eclipse I got the result and it's A good one the eclipse is going to occur in this region and could be seen from this castle in about a week but unfortunately it's not a total Solar eclipse its an Annual Solar eclipse atleast we get the Ring of fire .

I informed the group that I will be doing the ritual to make up for the missing piece in about a week and they were tasked with finding the sacrifice .

As its just merging of properties of blood it doesn't need a grand sacrifice a vampire would be good but since they are kept under the impression that there are no other vampire in this world and don't know could be created by their blood we have to make do with a normal human and to ensure nothing goes wrong I would put a animal in it too .

As the Ritual day arrives The group becomes excited and most excited are Kol and Finn who were desperate and kept nagging me what ritual I want to do .

Kol leaned in, curiosity sparkling in his eyes. "So, what's this ritual you're planning?"

Finn nodded eagerly. "Yeah, spill it! We want to know!"

I took a deep breath. "It's a merging ritual tied to the solar eclipse. When the Sun and Moon align, we can channel their energy."

Kol raised an eyebrow. "And how does that work?"

"It's simple," I explained. "The Sun represents one entity, the Moon another. During the eclipse, we perform the ritual to merge their powers. The efficiency depends on the type of eclipse."

So in two days the ritual has to be performed so get everything ready will you .

Kol frowned. "And what do we need for a sacrifice?"

"A human will do, but I'll also include an animal to ensure everything goes smoothly," I said, my tone serious. "It's vital we get this right."

Finn grinned. "Count us in! We'll help find the sacrifice."

Kol smirked. "This is going to be epic!"
