Chapter 9 - [9] "Fate is a Fickle Thing, 'Ya Know, Me?"-Meliodas

A/N: Decided to release two chapters this week. Just from this, it should be obvious who he's gonna meet if you've read the original.

That next week's chapter tho

A/N: I got Adventurine!

I have an account which I play on both American and European servers. I play European servers becuase I accidentally put that one when I started playing, but I still got a American server account for PS5.

Got Adventurine on my American one.

Funny thing, I got so many good support and sustain on the American server but I got shity dps.

And for the European I only have Luocha for a good sustain and so many good dps.

I usually run Ruan Mei, Firefly, Luocha, and Boothill.

Boothill is so good btw, he's my favorite dps besides Jingliu.

Boothill and Firefly shreds shileds like paper, especially with Ruan.

-3rd POV-

Night had finally fallen over Mondstat. Soft candle light and magical contraption lighted the streets full with people.

"Mr. Duncan, over here!" Meliodas's shouted as he saw Duncan Campbell among the sea of people.

"Ah, there 'ya are, lad" Duncan said with a smile as he walked towards them. He was now wearing a green tunic and leather pants, completely different from the armor he had been fashioning earlier.

"So, how did the job hunting go?" Duncan asked. It wasn't hard to find a job here in Mondstat, he was just curious.

Plus, if he didn't manage to find one then maybe he could invite him to become a knight of Favinous!

Duncan has seen Melioda's training with his sword.

He could tell that he had no fighting style or had any previous training for fighting, but he was a natural.

Everytime he swing his sword, he slowly corrected himself, finding the way to swing down his blade with even more force.

And that's not including his already raw strength packed in that skinny body of his.

Duncan didn't know where that power came from considering he didn't have a vision at all, but he could only chop it off as natural and genetic talent.

Duncan was absolutely wrong.

The only thing Meliodas has being doing so far for "training" has been what he has seen from anime.

He doesn't know jack shit!

All he does is swing and hope to find the more effective way to swing a weapon at someone.

Surprisingly, it works.

Just a bit...

"Yup, got the job" Meliodas's said with a proud smile as he took out his adventurers guild member card.

Duncan widened his eyes in surprise.

An adventurer?!

He might had as well just asked him if he wanted to join the knights if he wanted to join a job so dangerous.

Duncan looked at Meliodas with a serious face "You sure, kid? Being an adventurer isn't easy. You're all by yourself usually unless you form parties. And the resources and benefits you get ain't as good unless you're a top adventurer?" Duncan asked with genuine concern.

"I'm sure of it" Meliodas's responded with resolve.

"Plus, I don't have to worry about the kid's being alone with Sleipnir around" Meliodas pated the back his trusty steed with pride.

"Hmm, I guess. Just know that I'm here if ya need help" Duncan offered what he always did.

If Meliodas was a mystery, then Sleipnir was a big question mark.

Out of nowhere, the man had appeared in the village. Most in the village would have been suspicious of him, but Meliodas had vouched for him, saying that he was a friend he had separated from accidentally and had just recently reunited once again.

"Sigh~ alright. Anyways, let's go I'm starving!"

-Meliodas POV-

After a bit of walking we finally made it to the docks on the edges of Mondstat City, no need to remind you that we're on a city that was built on an island in the middle of a lake

I could see a crowd of people walking towards a certain bridge that lead out deeper into the lake, leading to a cone shaped building.

It's like a lake house that has a bridge connected to it.

Huh? now that I think about, the building looks familiar.

We began to walk towards it, making it's featureres more clearer.

And...fucking hell...

Atop the entrance, a clear and massive sign read "The Boar Hat Tavern"
