Chapter 13 - Find Bamboo

"There are stones, and some other vines" Mary replied to Abraham.

"Good, take me to find them," Abraham replied happily to Mary.

"For you Wall and Gros, help me cut this wood into sheets, and please mark where the boundaries of the land that belongs to me" Abraham asked both of them to help him.

"Okay, just leave it to us" Wall replied confidently representing both of them

"Emmm.." Gros replied also in agreement.

"Come on Mary lead the way" Abraham invited Mary to Mary, asking her to show the way.

"Okay, come on, follow me in this direction" Mary invited Abraham to go in a direction that was close to the big river they had visited.

The difference this time was that they were heading towards the forest on the edge of a large hill on one side of the tribe.

"There will be lots of vines around the whispering tree plants, so you don't need to worry about feeling lacking" Mary, who led Abraham in front, was happy to explain about the situation around their tribe.

"Oh, the whispering tree, what kind of tree is that?" Abraham was interested to hear Mary say the whispering tree.

"That, just a skinny tree that sticks to each other, with a crooked trunk, and will make a sound when the wind blows hard enough towards them" Mary explained in a relaxed tone.

Soon they soon arrived at the edge of the forest, where they were immediately greeted by large trees that covered the sky.

Yes the trees in this forest are really big, from what Abraham saw this was the same as a hundreds of year old tree on earth.

Strangely this is just a tree on the edge of the forest, imagining the trees in the inner part of the forest Abraham could not imagine how big it was.

For example, with Abraham's current body size, it would take two to three people as big as Abraham to be able to surround the tree.

So you can imagine how big the tree is, not to mention its height is really at least 20-30 M more.

"Mary, are all the trees in this forest big like this? Or is it the same in other places?" Abraham asked in surprise.

"The trees on the edge of this forest are only normal in size, Abraham there are many bigger and taller ones if you go deeper into the forest.

But don't go too far into the forest, because it will be very dangerous, there are many dangerous trees and wild animals." Mary reminded Abraham.

"Then, is it safe here?" Abraham asked again.

"Of course it's safe, the area on the edge of this forest has been cleared by the tribal warriors so it's quite safe" Mary replied again.

"Ahhh, we're here" Mary told Abraham when they arrived at a fairly large area on the edge of the forest.

In front of them now there were many bushes with large sizes and plants growing around them.

"Let's collect these vines, they are strong enough to tie and very flexible after being separated from the tree" Mary told Abraham.

Mary then took out a medium-sized knife from her waist, on the other hand Abraham also took out a medium-sized knife which Ramon also gave him.

To build a house, in addition to materials, some survival equipment was also given to Abraham, including 3 small, medium and large iron knives, as well as 2 axes, and flint.

After cutting enough vines, Abraham decided to stop harvesting them.

As for what the vines looked like, Abraham was once again surprised by the size of the vines, and the flexibility they had.

The vines were as big as Abraham's finger with a shape that was very easy to bend and knot, this was like a natural rope provided by nature.

"Is that enough?" Mary asked when she saw Abraham had made 3 large rolls of vines.

"Enough, this is almost a hundred meters long, so it should be more than enough, if it's not enough I can come back here to get it" Abraham replied to Mary.

"Okay, then do you want to see the whispering tree?" Mary asked, who now remembered that Abraham was interested in the noisy tree.

"Is it far?" Abraham asked Mary, because he was afraid that if it was far then they would not have enough time, and Wall and Gross would be waiting.

"No, the whispering tree is quite close," Mary replied.

"Okay, then let's go there," Abraham replied again, agreeing with Mary's suggestion.

So the two of them then went to the place where the whispering tree grew, and the vines that they had harvested were left there.

Because they had to go back home through that place again, they decided to leave it there, before later bringing it back.

It was true as Mary said, that the location of the whispering tree was close to where the vines grew.

Less than 5 minutes later they soon arrived at a valley in the forest that contained many whispering trees.

"Okay we have arrived" replied Mary while pointing to where the whispering tree grew.

But what surprised Abraham was when he saw what was meant by the whispering tree was none other than a bamboo tree that was similar to that on earth.

"Ehhhh ... is this what you mean by the whispering tree Mary?" Abraham asked in surprise.

"Yes, this is the whispering tree I mean" replied Mary.

"I really didn't expect that there would be bamboo trees in the tribe" Abraham said in disbelief.

"Ohhh ... is this called a bamboo tree in the human race?" Mary asked with sparkling eyes, after she found out that Abraham called the whispering tree in their tribe bamboo.

"Yes it is called bamboo" said Abraham confirming.

After seeing that there was a bamboo tree in front of him, Abraham was of course happy, because with this he would be able to make his house better and he could also make lots of furniture.

For information, Abraham had quite a lot of skills in his previous life, and this was related to the fact that he was an orphan.

Because he had to eat and pay for school, Abraham then had to rack his brains to support himself.

From there he did various rough jobs, and among them he had worked for several years in the field of house construction.

And from there he got the knowledge about building houses and various other things, on the other hand to increase his income Abraham also learned weaving and carving skills which once again increased his income.

So this time he had thought, what was the bamboo in front of him for.

"Let's cut some of these bamboo trees, I need them to make something" Abraham then invited Mary to cut some bamboo trees.

"Oh, can this tree be used to make something interesting!" Mary had a sparkle in her eyes again when she heard Abraham's words.
