Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Humiliation

At Nuoding Academy's administrative office...

"What did you say? A six-year-old soul master?" Grandmaster slapped the table, staring at Director Su in disbelief.

"Yes, I personally tested him yesterday. He's undoubtedly an eleventh-level soul master," Director Su replied with a smile.

Exchanging glances with Tang San, Grandmaster was astonished.

A six-year-old at level eleven? Clearly another innate full soul power genius! Could this be a blessing from the heavens?

Finding two innate full soul power geniuses in such a short time! Was this fate's compensation for me? Though my martial soul is flawed, and I've suffered greatly, my future students will surely make a name for themselves across the continent!

In his heart, Zhao Ming was already his student.

"Where is he now?" Grandmaster's tired face lit up with excitement.

"He's assigned to Dormitory Seven, just like Tang San," Director Su frowned.

With this information, Grandmaster quickly left, dragging Tang San along.

"Look at him rushing! Is he planning to take Zhao Ming as his disciple?"

"I think so."

"Should we stop him? Tang San is one thing, but Zhao Ming is a true genius. We can't let him be ruined by Grandmaster."

"Enough. Grandmaster is a friend of the academy's dean. We shouldn't judge casually. No one has proven his theories correct, but no one has proven them wrong either."

"Director, even if he's the dean's friend, he shouldn't just take our students as disciples. It's like taking our academy's resources."

"Indeed, Director Su is a more suitable teacher for Zhao Ming."

Director Su furrowed his brows.

That's right. When did our students become free for the taking?

Tang San is one thing, given his useless martial soul, but Zhao Ming is clearly a genius, even if I don't know his martial soul.

"Let's leave it. If Zhao Ming agrees, there's nothing we can do," Director Su said, though his dissatisfaction with Grandmaster grew.

...

"Teacher, is he also a twin martial soul?" Tang San asked, puzzled.

"I don't know, but it's possible. Throughout history, innate full soul power geniuses are rare."

"Most have twin martial souls. If he has only one, it's undoubtedly a powerful one," Grandmaster explained to Tang San as they walked quickly, showing his familiarity with the location as he led Tang San to Dormitory Seven.

At that moment, Zhao Ming was lounging on his bed, legs resting on the frame, utterly relaxed.

He had learned that Nuoding Academy's enrollment lasted only three days. With two days left, Xiao Wu would arrive either today or tomorrow.

Zhao Ming had already prepared for her arrival: a new set of pretty beddings, the dormitory's only lavender curtain, and a big bag of carrots, just in case.

This is the beauty of knowing the plot!

"Grandmaster?" a surprised voice came from the dormitory just as Zhao Ming daydreamed about his future with Xiao Wu.

Grandmaster? What Grandmaster?

Zhao Ming, half-asleep, seemed to understand and looked toward the door.

There stood a middle-aged man and a child.

The man had short hair and an ordinary appearance, slightly hunched, exuding a sense of fatigue and laziness.

The child was plainly dressed, with patches in some places, black hair, and darker skin.

Grandmaster and Tang San? A smile brushed Zhao Ming's lips.

"Hello, I'm Zhao Ming, the head of Dormitory Seven," Zhao Ming approached and introduced himself.

"You're Zhao Ming?" Grandmaster and Tang San exclaimed simultaneously.

"You know me?"

"Director Su just mentioned you. Truly a hero in youth!" Grandmaster praised.

"By the way, I'm Tang San, also from Dormitory Seven. This is my teacher; you can call him Grandmaster," Tang San introduced.

"Grandmaster? The one known as the foremost theorist of martial souls?" Zhao Ming feigned surprise, his face showing exaggerated admiration.

"Those are just empty titles," Grandmaster waved it off, though inwardly pleased.

To him, knowing his reputation meant Zhao Ming wouldn't refuse his mentorship.

"No, no, no, Grandmaster's academic fame spreads across the continent. Though not in the martial soul world, Grandmaster's legends are still told."

"Well said! Well said!" Grandmaster exclaimed, delighted to have such a young admirer in the martial soul world.

"Would you be willing to take me as your disciple?" Grandmaster asked eagerly.

"No! I wouldn't!"

With a raised eyebrow, Zhao Ming slowly uttered the three words.

"My dear disciple, then we shall... Wait, what did you say?" Mid-sentence, Grandmaster stopped, his face turning sour and constipated.

"Pfft!"

"Hahaha," the dormitory members couldn't help but laugh.

Grandmaster frowned, asking, "Why? Do you not want to learn martial soul theory from me?"

"No particular reason. It's just that my martial soul is too weak to catch Grandmaster's eye."

That's the reason? Grandmaster sighed in relief, saying calmly, "There's no such thing as a useless martial soul, only useless soul masters. Even with a weak martial soul, with effort, one can achieve greatness."

"Really?"

"Of course," Grandmaster replied, righteous and firm.

"Then why hasn't Grandmaster broken through to Soul Elder?"

"Is Grandmaster the so-called useless soul master? Then forget it; I don't need a useless teacher," Zhao Ming shrugged.

"You!"

Grandmaster clutched his chest, his face turning pale and green. He realized Zhao Ming was mocking him, yet couldn't refute it.

"Silence! You can't insult my teacher!" Tang San shouted, glaring at Zhao Ming. He had lost any goodwill toward Zhao Ming.

"Insult? I didn't insult him. The phrase 'no useless martial souls, only useless soul masters' was Grandmaster's own words. Isn't that right?"

"Boss is right; Grandmaster admitted it himself."

"Yeah! Our teacher said Grandmaster's martial soul just farts, useless."

The dormitory members echoed, enjoying the scene.

At this moment, Zhao Ming's standing among them soared.

"Pfft!" Humiliated, Grandmaster couldn't hold back and spat out blood, fainting.

Zhao Ming looked dispassionately at the unconscious Yu Xiaogang, feeling no sympathy.

Yu Xiaogang was a failure, in cultivation and in love.

To access Spirit Hall's archives, he cozied up to Bibi Dong, then the Holy Maiden. After learning, he trained Tang San to betray Spirit Hall.

Despite his deep martial soul research, Yu Xiaogang failed to recognize Liu Erlong's Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon lineage. Who believes that? Did he really miss their martial soul fusion due to blood relation? He just wanted to be with Liu Erlong to lead the Golden Iron Triangle.

Unexpectedly, Qian Xunji died so soon. With him gone, Yu Xiaogang could return to Bibi Dong. He deceitfully brought the innocent Liu Erlong back to the Yu family, letting them tear them apart.

He likely stayed at Nuoding Academy, waiting for Qian Daoliu's death or Bibi Dong's strength to grow, so he could return to her.

Yu Xiaogang, a despicable failure, navigated between Tang San, Liu Erlong, and Bibi Dong for benefits. Whether Tang San or Spirit Hall prevailed, he'd always side with power.

Unlike others who might not see his true nature, Zhao Ming, recognizing a fellow schemer, understood him well.

Though Zhao Ming admitted to being cunning, he'd never harm those who loved him. His cunning was reserved for enemies.
