Chapter 36 - The mark of Destiny

The silence between them stretched as thick as the tension in the air, but the decision had already been made. Lyra and Kael stood side by side in the dim light of the cabin, the flames from the hearth casting flickering shadows over their faces. Even though Kael's confession had shaken her to her core, Lyra felt a sense of calm settling within her. The fear, the uncertainty-it was still there, but now it was intertwined with something else: resolve.

She could feel the weight of the prophecy, pressing down on both of them, but now they faced it together. And in that togetherness, Lyra found her strength.

Kael's eyes remained fixed on the window, his body tense as if bracing for a battle that could happen any second. The moonlight filtering through the glass illuminated his sharp features, making him look more dangerous, more primal. It was a reminder that, despite his restraint, the wolf inside him was never far from the surface.
