Chereads / Z-Force Rangers / Chapter 17 - Lord Xander

Chapter 17 - Lord Xander

Deep within the shadows of their hidden base, Lieutenant Amorg knelt before a massive holographic projection of Lord Xander, his cybernetic parts still smoking from his recent defeat.

"My lord, the Red Ranger's power grows stronger. He and his human ally have created something... unexpected."

Lord Xander's form crackled with dark energy, his face obscured by an ornate mask. "Unexpected is not acceptable, Lieutenant. The X-Force requires—"

"My lord!" General Dy Syrian strode in, her armor bearing battle scars. "If I may interject." She bowed briefly. "Our scans of their new technology reveal something more concerning. The Z-Force reactor's signature... it's evolving."

"The ancient enemy stirs," Lord Xander's voice grew cold. "And Magnus plays his part well..."

"What the hell, Farza?" Eddy slapped the work order against the mysterious motorcycle's tank. "Three weeks, and this bike still won't start? I've got paying customers waiting!"

Farza wiped grease from his hands, avoiding his boss's glare. "I've got school and—"

"Listen here," Eddy leaned close, his voice dropping. "The only reason you've got this job is because your old man and I go way back. Squad Mate Khan was there for me when I needed it, but my patience has limits."

"I'll get it fixed, Mr. Eddy. I promise."

"You better." Eddy straightened up, adjusting his cap. "That bike's important to someone. Don't let me down."

As his boss walked away, Farza slumped against the workbench. His phone buzzed with missed calls from his parents, homework notifications competing with Z-Force alerts. The weight of his double life pressed down harder each day.

The shop slowly emptied as evening fell. Farza worked alone in the back, the mysterious motorcycle seeming to mock his efforts. Every standard diagnostic led nowhere. It was like the bike had a mind of its own.

CLANG!

"Ow!" Farza banged his head as his Z-Watch suddenly pulsed with energy. Before he could check it, Juan's face appeared in a holographic projection.

"Farza! We've got X-Force radiation signatures downtown!" Juan's excitement was barely contained. "The Green Ranger's here too—"

"Wait, what?" Farza rubbed his head. "How are you with Green?"

"Oh yeah, I stopped by the warehouse to learn more about the Z-Force reactor." Juan's image shifted, revealing the Green Ranger beside him. "Farza, this is incredible. The reactor isn't just a power source – it's the heart of everything. It produces and distributes energy to our Z-Watches through something called the Z-Power Guide."

The Green Ranger nodded solemnly. "Knowledge you've earned, Juan. But there are deeper mysteries still."

"Sorry," Farza sighed, looking at the bike. "I've got to finish this first. My dad's reputation is on the line."

Later that night, exhaustion finally claimed Farza. He fell asleep at his desk, homework half-finished, tools scattered around him. Through his window, the city lights twinkled like distant stars.

On a rooftop across the street, a feminine figure stood watching. Her high-tech binoculars focused on Farza's sleeping form, then shifted to the Z-Watch on his wrist. She made a note in her device, then melted into the shadows without a sound.

The mysterious motorcycle sat in the darkened shop below, its chrome catching the moonlight. For just a moment, almost too quick to notice, its engine gave off a faint blue glow – the same shade as the energy that had transformed Juan's drone.

The night held its secrets close, but soon all would be revealed.
