Chapter 20 - First Blood

Awa stood up, looking at Kelsey, her blood-soaked hand raised to her mouth, her glowing red eyes locked onto his. The taste of his blood surged through her like a drug, sharpening her senses and drowning out the pain that still throbbed from the gashes on her chest and stomach. It wasn't just satisfaction—it was clarity, power, and something darker that she hadn't expected to crave. Kelsey, once so arrogant, was now stumbling backward, his confidence shattered, his eyes wide with fear and disbelief.

She had beaten him. But it wasn't over yet.

Kelsey clutched his stomach, blood dripping between his fingers as he staggered back, gasping for breath. His body trembled, but even through the pain, his eyes burned with rage. "You... you think this is over?" he hissed, his voice weak but still laced with venom. "You have no idea what you're dealing with."

Awa took a step forward, her fangs extending as her lips pulled into a vicious smile. "I know exactly what I'm dealing with," she replied, her voice low and deadly. Her fingers twitched, her claws glinting in the moonlight. "You're not the only one with power, Kelsey. And right now, you're standing on the edge."

Kelsey's eyes narrowed, his face contorting with fury. "You bitch!" he snarled. "I'm not done yet!" He let out a guttural growl, his body tensing, the muscles in his arms and chest bulging unnaturally as he began to transform.

Awa watched as his form began to shift, his bones cracking and twisting beneath his skin. Kelsey was a hybrid—a werewolf, but not a full-blooded one, and the transformation was slower, more painful. His back arched, and his claws extended further, growing longer and sharper. His skin rippled, covered in thick fur as his face elongated, his teeth sharpening into deadly fangs. His muscles swelled, his form growing larger and more beast-like with every passing second. The human element faded as he became something more monstrous, more primal.

The hybrid werewolf let out a roar that echoed across the rooftop, his glowing yellow eyes locking onto Awa, his claws flexing with anticipation. His voice was now deep, guttural, almost animalistic. "You don't know who you're messing with, human."

But Awa wasn't afraid. She could feel the power coursing through her, more potent than ever before. Her nails had grown into claws, her fangs sharp, but it wasn't a full transformation. She didn't need to shift into something else—she was already stronger than this hybrid beast. And she could feel it.

Before Kelsey could charge, Awa moved first—her body a blur of motion as she closed the distance between them in a heartbeat. She swung her claws in a deadly arc, aiming for his throat, but Kelsey dodged with surprising speed, his hybrid form allowing him to twist out of the way. Awa's claws sliced through the air, missing by inches, but she wasn't deterred.

Kelsey retaliated with a powerful swipe of his own, his massive arm crashing toward her like a hammer. Awa ducked under the blow, her movements graceful and precise, and kicked out, her foot connecting with his side. The impact sent Kelsey stumbling, but he quickly regained his balance, snarling as he lunged at her again.

Their bodies collided with a force that shook the rooftop, and for a moment, it was a brutal, chaotic struggle of claws and fangs. Kelsey's claws tore into Awa's side, ripping through her flesh, and Awa hissed in pain, but she didn't back down. She lashed out with her own claws, slashing across Kelsey's chest, leaving deep gashes in his fur-covered skin.

Kelsey howled in rage, his claws swinging wildly as he tried to overpower her, but Awa was faster, more agile. She ducked and weaved around his attacks, her movements fluid and precise, always staying one step ahead of him. Her claws found their mark again and again, slashing through fur and flesh, drawing blood with every strike.

Kelsey roared in frustration, his attacks becoming more erratic, more desperate. He lunged at her with both hands, trying to pin her down, but Awa twisted out of his grasp, her body spinning with inhuman speed. She lashed out with a powerful kick, her foot connecting with Kelsey's knee with a sickening crack.

Kelsey let out a howl of pain as his leg buckled beneath him, but even as he fell to one knee, he didn't stop fighting. His claws flashed in the moonlight as he slashed at Awa's legs, catching her off guard and sending her stumbling backward. The blow left deep gashes in her thigh, blood streaming down her leg, but Awa gritted her teeth and pushed through the pain.

With a snarl, Kelsey pushed himself back to his feet, limping slightly as he squared off against Awa once more. His yellow eyes burned with fury, his chest heaving as he prepared for another attack. "You're not going to win this," he growled, his voice thick with rage. "I'll tear you apart!"

Awa's lips curled into a smirk, her glowing red eyes locked onto his. "You can try," she replied, her voice dripping with confidence. "But we both know how this is going to end."

With a roar, Kelsey charged at her again, his claws raised, but Awa was ready. She sidestepped his attack, her movements fluid and effortless, and as he passed her, she spun around, driving her claws into his back. Kelsey howled in pain as her claws tore through muscle and bone, but he didn't stop. He swung his arm back, his claws catching Awa across the chest and sending her flying backward.

Awa hit the ground hard, her body skidding across the rooftop, but she quickly rolled to her feet, her eyes blazing with fury. The pain was intense, but the power coursing through her veins was stronger. She could feel her wounds healing, her strength returning with every passing second.

Kelsey, on the other hand, was struggling. His hybrid form was powerful, but the damage Awa had inflicted was starting to take its toll. Blood dripped from his wounds, staining the concrete beneath him, and his movements were becoming slower, more labored.

Awa could see the desperation in his eyes, the realization that he was losing this fight. She smiled, baring her fangs as she advanced on him. "Looks like you're running out of steam," she taunted, her voice low and dangerous.

Kelsey growled, his yellow eyes blazing with hatred. "I'm not done yet!" he roared, lunging at her with all the strength he had left. But Awa was faster, more precise. She ducked under his attack and grabbed him by the arm, twisting it with unnatural strength.

Kelsey howled in pain as his arm snapped, the bone breaking with a sickening crack. But Awa didn't stop there. With a savage twist, she ripped Kelsey's arm clean off, the blood spraying in all directions as she tossed the severed limb aside.

Kelsey staggered back, his body trembling with pain and shock, his eyes wide as he stared at the blood pouring from the stump where his arm had been.

Awa took a step forward, her eyes glowing brighter than ever, her fangs bared. "Now it's over."

Kelsey's mouth opened in a silent scream, his body shuddering as he fell to his knees. Blood gushed from the wound, pooling around him, but he was too weak to move. His hybrid form began to falter, his fur receding, his claws shrinking as his body tried to shift back to its human form.

Awa watched with cold satisfaction as Kelsey's transformation reversed, leaving him broken and bleeding at her feet. He looked up at her, his face pale, his eyes filled with fear. "What... are you?" he gasped, his voice barely a whisper.

Awa didn't answer. She bent down, her glowing red eyes locked onto his throat, her fangs gleaming in the moonlight. Without hesitation, she sank her fangs into his neck, the taste of his blood flooding her senses.

Kelsey let out one final, choked gasp as Awa drank from him, his body twitching beneath her as the life drained from his veins. She could feel the power in his blood, the strength that surged through her with every drop. It was intoxicating, exhilarating.

Awa drank until there was nothing left, until Kelsey's body was cold and lifeless in her arms. She stood up, wiping the blood from her lips, her eyes glowing with triumph.

The fight was over. And she had won.
