DC Amara Hunter had always been exceptional.
In the small Scottish town of Fochabers, with a population of under 2,000 people, it wasn't a difficult endeavour to stand out within the peaceful, quiet community.
But with her round hazel eyes ringed with vibrant yellow, and short golden hair, her tall statuesque figure and the small dimples that appeared on her perfect oval face whenever she smiled, Amara was nothing short of striking.
Throughout her life, everything had come easy to her. Her studies, her relationships, even her physical endeavours. She had stood above others with ease. She could run faster, see farther, and was able to match grown men in contests of strength. And yet - Amara was bored.
She leant back in her office chair at the Fochabers police station and stared dull-eyed at the computer screen.
