The raid was one day away and Love had an appointment to collect her customised katana and the additional commission that the Professor had created for her.
Ezra had barely connected with her during the course of the day, except to assure her that he would be observing the raid from a distance, ready to intervene if he was needed. Love was reassured by this although she would have been equally so if he had sent Faith in his place. The fact that he was going to be there himself showed that they were concerned about the potential culprit behind the Black Star operation in the Outskirts.
She quietly hoped that her new commissions would give her an edge in her preparations to face the elusive vampire that had dared to torture Ezra to the extent that he did. But the still rational part of her brain ordered her to stay patient and detached. She was always at her most lethal when there was little to no emotional attachment involved.
