Captain Hunter raised his gun and fired a charged shot into the swarm of flying Beasts above them just as Sunny reached over to reload her rifle with swift precision. Kit hit the button on his mask to activate their internal comms, "Till! how long until we're out of these woods?" Kit shouted over the din of howls and screeching.
"Two miles, we're almost there." Till replied, his voice strained and agitated.
Kit knew that he hated to be left out of the fray, but when he had seen the number of Beasts that Sunny and Love were up against he had made the choice to join himself and leave Till down below in the safety of the Tank.
Yet after seeing Love's injury and watching the blood seeping from her left arm he wished that she would have chosen to retreat back inside and switch with Till. 'Ah, that's right, I really need to teach her how to drive.'
