"Oh! I didn't see you there, newbie. Hi!" Ivan jumped slightly in surprise before quickly recovering and lifting a large hand up in greeting.
"Morning Love!" Cordelia beamed up at her cheerfully.
Love hesitated for a short second. "Good morning, did you - err, did you both sleep well?" Her tone sounded a little awkward but she felt a strange sense of accomplishment in speaking at a moment when she would have ordinarily stayed silent and responded with a silent nod or one word answer.
The pair smiled widely in response and began attempting to engage her in small talk, firing questions towards her, did she like her room? What was her house like in the outskirts? What unit was she from before? And so on.
Love answered each question as best as she could, but she could feel her face warming slightly as she tapped her finger against the side of her leg rhythmically.
