Chapter 13. "I'm just a little hungry."
"Th' year?...2127." Amara stepped back a little further from what she was now convinced was a deranged homeless man.
"2127, really? Huh...Well, I don't think my ID will be much good then, how about we handle this another way?" The man stepped forward with his hands held out in front him, his palms facing forwards in a calming gesture. But Amara could hear her heart beating wildly in her chest as stumbled back a few more steps, the forest floor crunching underneath her boots.
There was something inside of her that told her not to look directly into those strange emerald eyes. And something else that threatened to pull her in.
