Chapter 17 - Stage four: dungeon of death, the goblins

The fire flew right into the ground and landed on a dark cave underneath.

When it transforms back to its original form, Blaze realizes that it was that cute little purple creature.

Up till now,he still wonders what the razor teeth thingy they were told to avoid was.

But he soon brushed the thought away and focus on the game.

The purple creature seemed to be following them because no matter where they went,it would always stick really close to them.

Following the blue dot trail, they found that the more they journeyed further, the darker it gets and the more scared the little fur-feathered creature felt.

The lighting of the game was dimming and the walls were a mixture of blue, brown and black and coupled with the lighting of the game, gave off a ghoul themed stage.

But it was far worse.

They journeyed further down the cave with the trusted lead of the blue dot trail and soon started to see dashes of dark figures that they couldn't quite make out.

The once bustling chat box was now as dry as a desert with one to no comment per minute or more.

Walking further, they heard creaking sounds as though something rusty was being pried open and then follows a light clank.

After that, nothing else was heard…

The blue dot trail soon stopped and left them to go on alone.

Blaze on the other hand was now overly cautious and with every step he took, he'd scan his surroundings.

He saw the figures lurking in the shadows waiting for something but he didn't know what.

Suddenly, a loud clank sound was heard and a player holding a staff made of ice was found on the ground, with a rusty trap entrapping his left foot.

The character grimaced and cried out in pain, his HP slowly decreasing.

Suddenly,a green like blue creature jumped out of the shadows aiming for the injured guy but another player was agile enough to slice it in half.

The player whom was hurt was trying to freeze break the trap and it worked.

He also slightly cast a cold spell on his bleeding feet and it stopped the bleeding.

His HP still kept depleting at a much slower pace.

"He's poisoned" Blaze said "that means that the trap was poisonous"

"I need to lookout for those things" Blaze said and noticed the dead creature.

It has pointy ears, thin body with its ribs clearly visible, pointy nose and very small eyes that remained open as it laid dead in half, his lower half was clothed with a tattered purple material that only reached its thigh, its legs thin and bony was

"Is that a goblin!" Blaze said and assumed the other players might have figured it out too.

The player caught in the goblin's trap was about to die due to a total depletion of health points.

Suddenly,a swirly red light surrounded him and his HP was refilled but the depletion didn't end.

It was a health restoration potion.

"What!" Blaze yelled as he looked ahead of them, many of those creatures were typically lurking in the shadows.

Their eyes, dark yellow was clearly visible.

"Now what!" Blaze thought and followed the other four players.

Normally,he wouldn't be shaken by all these,if not because of the faulty weapon he carried.

They couldn't turn back so they continued further.

The goblins were very silent, stealthy and agile but not very wise.

"Woah" Blaze gasped as he almost stepped on a trap "that was close,I need to be more careful".

The goblins, see that their traps didn't work, started to show themselves one after the other with the aim of catching their food by themselves.

"Oh no!!" Blaze inhaled sharply at the sight before him "no!,no!!,no!!!".

"Activate" Blaze yelled frustratingly at the screen because his stupid weapon failed to activate.

"Come on,come on" Blaze pleaded but…still…no luck.

"Great, now I'm cooked" he said and let go of the gaming mice and keyboard, staring at his PC.

The goblins began attacking and was being hacked brutally by the players.

No loot was derived from killing the goblins, they were fast, agile but were too stupid and dumb.

Anything could easily distract them, which made them an easy kill.

Just then, two goblins noticed Blaze and launched at him, at the same time.

"Oh well" Blaze said as he literally saw his only chance of becoming a millionaire fly away before his very own eyes.

He gave up and went to the kitchen to grab a glass of water.

Just then…, something unseen happened….

When he returns,he expected to see a disqualified notice but he saw a reward note for killing the most goblins.

"What's going on here" he thought "there probably has been a mistake somewhere".

Happy that he was still alive,he clicked anywhere on the screen and he could swear he'd seen his character deactivate its weapon amidst countless of dead goblins.

Thinking it was probably just his excitement,he brushed it off and continued with the game because the hope of his which flew away decided to come back.

Proceeding with the game, they walked for a while and stopped in an open area where nothing but burning blue-flame candles lit up the entire space with debris of stones big and small with various shades….

There were little bits of cracks on the floor and walls,a single red flower surrounded by hot lava growing in the middle, beautiful and elegant with the exit on the opposite side of them.

They approached the exit while scanning the room for any sign of more goblins because while they fought earlier, the more they killed, the more goblins appeared and the harder they were, to kill (but this,Blaze didn't know of, because he was in the kitchen)

He thought about the player that was poisoned and discovered that his HP which was depleting earlier was now stable and slowly regenerating.

Just as they got to the middle point where the flower was,the player with the ice staff decided to freeze the flower which didn't bother them in the first place.

And his action,cost them dearly.

The entire place began to quake, the blue-flamed candle flickered and turned red, the exit sealed off with a visible black barrier, and the debris of stones on the ground, attracting each other forming a kind of giant stone beast...
