Chapter 20 - The Hidden Treasure of White Jade Lingzhi

The sudden appearance of a snake startled the entire audience watching Ning Fei's live broadcast.

The green snake moved so fast that the viewers barely had time to process what was happening. However, when the camera angle switched to the drone's perspective, they saw the snake had been knocked aside. Ning Fei, calm and unharmed, held his ground.

With a composed demeanor, Ning Fei addressed the audience:

"Don't worry, everyone. In areas where spiritual treasures like this grow, it's common to encounter insects and snakes. That's why I stayed vigilant."

The viewers let out collective sighs of relief.

"Anchor, you're amazing!"

"Wow, I almost had a heart attack!"

"Compensate me for my phone! I dropped it when the snake appeared!"

"I thought you said you didn't know martial arts—clearly, you do!"

The barrage was filled with both admiration and humor as viewers recovered from the adrenaline rush. Many sent gifts to Ning Fei in appreciation.

One curious viewer asked, "Was the snake guarding the White Jade Lingzhi?"

Ning Fei chuckled. "Not quite. Lingzhi is valuable to humans, but to a snake, it's just an unusual mushroom. Snakes prefer cool, dark places like this. That's why it was hiding here."

He continued clearing the weeds and debris around the Lingzhi with his fragrant wood stick, careful and methodical. Treasure hunting in the wilderness requires patience and caution. Unlike novices who might recklessly grab such a rare find, Ning Fei knew better.

"You must always stay alert when harvesting wild Ganoderma. A careless move could lead to a snake bite or other dangers," he explained.

Soon, Ning Fei unearthed the White Jade Lingzhi, handling it with utmost care. He used a brush and water from his bottle to clean the soil off its surface, revealing its pristine, pure-white texture.

"This is indeed White Jade Lingzhi," he announced, giving the audience a close-up. "It's rare to find one so flawless and without any insect damage. This is a real treasure."

The chat exploded with excitement.

"Is it really that valuable?"

"White Jade Lingzhi is said to fetch over 100,000 yuan!"

"Wait, what? That's insane!"

"Anchor, sell it to me—I'll pay 50,000!"

Ning Fei calmly checked his private messages. Among the many offers, one stood out:

[Jiang Zi]: Anchor, I'll buy the White Jade Lingzhi for 100,000 yuan. Its ten-year growth makes it incredibly rare, and this price is fair.

Ning Fei smiled and replied, "Deal."

He then addressed the viewers. "Friends, this White Jade Lingzhi has been sold, so I won't entertain any more offers. Thank you for your interest."

Jiang Zi appreciated Ning Fei's integrity and promptly rewarded him with five super rockets.

With 100,000 yuan now in his account, Ning Fei felt relieved. The money would help repair the Qingfeng Temple, which desperately needed maintenance.

As he rested briefly for lunch, the simplicity of his meal—two steamed buns, a marinated egg, a bottle of Lao Gan Ma, and a ham sausage—amused the audience.

"Anchor, you just made 100,000 yuan, and this is what you're eating?"

"Rich people's frugality is on another level!"

"Hahaha, iconic!"

Ning Fei laughed. "Time is precious today. I need to keep searching the mountains before dark. Next time, I'll do a dedicated cooking stream for you all."

After finishing his modest meal, he packed up and ventured deeper into the forest. The terrain became more challenging, and fewer people had ventured this far.

"The deeper you go, the more likely you are to find untouched wild treasures," he explained, eyes scanning his surroundings.

Suddenly, the rustling of leaves and the shaking of tree trunks caught his attention.

"What's going on?" the audience wondered nervously.

From the dense foliage emerged a large wild boar, its presence commanding and intimidating.

The chat lit up in panic:

"Run, anchor, run!"

"Oh my god, a wild boar!"

"It looks so dangerous!"

Ning Fei stood his ground, holding a sharp shovel subtly in his hand. The boar hesitated, staring at him for a moment before retreating into the woods.

"Wild boars usually avoid humans unless provoked," Ning Fei explained calmly, putting the audience at ease.

After the encounter, Ning Fei consulted his map. "This should be close to the shaded side of the mountain, the perfect environment for Ganoderma to grow. I need to check the cliffs over there."

With determination in his eyes, Ning Fei continued his journey, confident that more treasures awaited him in the secluded depths of the mountain.
