Zoe was halfway up the hill at Packard Park when she realized something strange: she wasn't winded.
She stopped, blinking in confusion, and looked down at herself.
Her eyes widened as she realized something else: she had lost a lot of weight.
A hundred pounds, maybe more.
She had gone from 270 to somewhere around 170 while in the shard, and she hadn't even noticed.
With a mix of curiosity and disbelief, Zoe squeezed her now much smaller tummy.
She hadn't noticed how much weight was gone until now, just looking at herself felt surreal.
She hiked up her robe, revealing her legs, and gave them an appraising look.
They were thinner, toned even. Ridiculous.
She wasn't done yet.
She pulled her robe away from her chest, craning her neck to peer down it.
"What the..." she muttered, bewildered.
Gavin, who had opted to walk alongside her, paused and turned to watch her strange display.
