Chapter 9 - HP Ch 6 (Part 1 ): Three Step Baptism

About 2 weeks after Evelyn murdered her own parents, she was taken into the house of Durseleys.

Hadrian just forced his uncle and aunt to take care of the legal matters.

Well, Hadrian needed to isolate Evelyn from her parents, even if they didn't like her all that much.

Well, even if her father hated her for being born as a girl, her mother still might have a small measure of love for her.

Evelyn was still a child, and even a little love and kindness from a mother could potentially unravel much of Hadrian's conditioning on Evelyn.

Hadrian didn't want to let go of such a good little pawn.

As Evelyn spent her days with Hadrian she couldn't help but feel truly fulfilled. She was an integral part of Hadrian's life, he NEEDED her for his spell practice.

Evelyn's unwavering loyalty provided him with a reliable test subject and a pawn, and her willingness to endure anything for his benefit only solidified his hold over her.

During the summer vacation, Hadrian honed his magical skills with ruthless precision.

It was good that Hadrian could use magic on family members as it was allowed by the Ministry of Magic. It lessened the burden on Evelyn and he could use even those spells which might kill or break a person entirely.

The days of summer passed without many extraordinary events. There was a bit of trouble in the end due to a house-elf of a certain house but he was taken care of easily.

The second year seemed even more uneventful than the first year until Hadrian noticed a blonde-haired girl sneakily following him around.

It was Luna Lovegood.

At first, he shrugged her off as another one of those fan-girls. However, on a certain day, the dirty-blonde-haired girl approached him with a bit of worry in her eyes.

"Eveie is in danger. You need to be aware, Lord Hadrian," she whispered in his ear which wasn't exactly a whisper, and then left as if she had no care in the world.

Evelyn raised her brows. "Eveie...? Does she mean me?"

"Perhaps, yes." Hadrian sighed.

Luna Lovegood's warning... it could only mean someone was plotting against him. Since Luna Lovegood came to warn him about it, it could possibly be a trap.

The reason the harmless-looking blond could know such information might be because she overheard the plotters or she was a part of them already.

But considering she was stalking him for some days, he concluded that she was not just another fan girl, after all.

Well, Hadrian had his fair share of enemies in this school. From arrogant prats who thought they were better than him, jealous of him to freaking professors possessed by ancient Dark Lords.

"I suppose I have to spare some time for that Ravenclaw stalker after all..."

A while later, he found her on a bench in the corner of an empty corridor, where she was reading an upside-down copy of The Quibbler.

As he approached, she looked up with her wide, dreamy eyes.

"Ah, Lord Hadrian," she smiled, her voice ethereal and calm.

*Baam!*

Hadrian grabbed her by her hair and then slammed her on the wall behind her, then shifted his hand from her hair to throat.

"Enough games, Lovegood," his eyes were filled with malice. "Tell me who're you working for?"

He had already cast a privacy and silencing charm.

Hadrian had already mastered a few incantationless spells.

"Gah! Ah!! Agh!" Luna was in no condition to speak, she was gasping for air, her eyes leaking tears. The poor girl was choking hard under his strong grasp.

However, despite the harsh treatment, there was a hidden calmness in her gaze that unnerved Hadrian.

"Please... I don't serve anyone... right now...." she managed to say between ragged breaths. "I... I see things."

After a few moments of trying to instill fear into her being, Hadrian gave up, relaxing his hold on her throat.

Coughing Luna gathered her composure without trying to shout or running away.

Hadrian narrowed his eyes. "What do you mean, you see things?"

It was odd, too odd -- an 11-eleven year old girl being this composed after treated like this by a senior boy...

Luna's voice trembled, but her gaze remained steady. "I have visions, glimpses of the future. I warned you because I saw Evelyn in danger. She was petrified."

"I see, you're a seer, huh." Hadrian hummed, his interest piqued, "And the reason you called me 'Lord', is it related or just one of your nicknames for me?"

Luna rubbed her throat, trying to soothe the lingering pain. "You grabbed it too hard, Lord Hadrian." She pouted, cutely. As if instead of grabbing her throat he had just pinched her sides.

This girl had no ounce of fear towards Hadrian even after his attempt at being intimidating. Any other 11-year-old girl would've been traumatized for days if manhandled in such a way by a senior. The girl was extraordinary for sure, or perhaps just weird or just extraordinarily weird...

"And yes, I call you 'Lord' because I saw myself serving you..." She beamed.

Hadrian gazed at her silently for a few moments, contemplating what to do with her, thinking of ways to ascertain her words, and deciding whether to accept her or not...

After a brief moment, he opened his mouth, "Why would the future me would accept you as one of mine? You're neither a Slytherin nor have you proven your loyalty to me."

"I don't know..." Luna wondered, tapping on her cheeks, "But I can be loyal," She said softly.

"If you wish to serve me in the future," Hadrian said slowly, lifting her chin with his finger, "then you must prove your loyalty now."

Luna's eyes sparkled with a strange mix of anticipation and serenity. "How can I prove my loyalty to you, Lord Hadrian?"

A cruel smile played on Hadrian's lips. "Follow me."

He led her through the winding corridors of Hogwarts, finally arriving at the Room of Requirement. The door materialized in front of them, and Hadrian opened it, revealing a dark, empty chamber inside.

"Step inside," he ordered. Luna obeyed without hesitation, her wide eyes scanning the room curiously.
