Chapter 9 - Yin Bai vs Yin Wei

Instructor Lei announced, "There will be a 30-minute resting period before the final battle begins!"

The arena buzzed with excitement as the students speculated on the outcome.

Shin Jian leaned against a tree, arms crossed, and said, "It's amazing that Yin Bai has made it this far, but Yin Wei is just unbeatable." His voice carried the certainty of someone who had already accepted the inevitable.

Many nodded in agreement, their eyes fixed on the ring. But those who had fought Yin Bai knew better. They had felt his strength and resilience. He wasn't someone to underestimate, no matter how invincible Yin Wei seemed.

Yin Bai sat quietly, his breath steady as he rested after the previous battle. His mind raced. This fight wasn't going to be easy. Yin Wei was no ordinary opponent—his talent was exceptional, and his strength nearly unmatched. Yin Bai had heard the whispers in the crowd, calling him unbeatable.

"Having to fight some kid seriously… it's humiliating," he thought, but he knew this was no ordinary fight, and this world was far from the one he had known back on Earth. Here, strength ruled, and only the strong survived.

He glanced at Yin Wei, who stood silently at the edge of the ring, his cold expression focused directly on him. Yin Wei's piercing gaze held no emotion, only pure, focused intent. After a moment, Yin Wei turned his head away, dismissing him as if the outcome was already decided.

Time passed quickly, and soon, the moment arrived. The final battle.

"Thirty minutes have passed, and it is time for the final fight!" Instructor Lei's voice echoed through the arena, silencing the crowd.

Yin Bai and Yin Wei rose from their places, both moving with calm deliberation. They walked to the center of the arena, their gazes locked in a silent clash before the first move was even made.

As they took their stances, Yin Wei smirked. "I never expected you, of all people, to make it to the final. But, in the end, it doesn't matter."

"Begin!" Instructor Lei announced.

Yin Wei moved first, lunging forward in a blur of motion. His fists flew with terrifying speed, each strike aimed to overwhelm and crush Yin Bai's defenses. Yin Bai reacted quickly, meeting the attack head-on. The sound of their fists colliding echoed through the arena like thunderclaps.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

Yin Bai held his ground, his experience and training keeping him in the fight. He parried Yin Wei's punches, dodging and countering when he saw an opening. But Yin Wei was relentless. Each strike came faster and stronger than the last. He fought like a storm, his cold gaze unwavering as he pressed Yin Bai harder and harder.

They fought evenly for several minutes, their movements a blur of precision and power. The crowd could barely keep up with the speed of their battle. Every punch, every kick was a deadly dance, both fighters reading each other's movements and reacting in the blink of an eye.

But as the fight wore on, Yin Wei began to take the upper hand. His strikes grew heavier, his movements sharper. Yin Bai could feel the pressure building. He was being pushed back, his stamina draining bit by bit. Despite his best efforts, Yin Wei's strength was overwhelming.

"Damn, this kid is strong," Yin Bai thought, searching for an opening.

Then, a solid punch landed on Yin Bai's side, sending him stumbling backward. He gritted his teeth, trying to steady himself, but Yin Wei was relentless, pressing forward with a flurry of attacks.

Yin Bai barely rolled out of the way to dodge another punch. He leapt back to his feet, but Yin Wei was already launching another strike, his fist flying toward him.

Yin Bai's vision blurred as another hit connected with his shoulder. "I can't keep up like this," he thought. "I need to turn this around."

Moving around the arena, Yin Bai's mind raced, searching for a strategy. The crowd watched, many thinking he was merely delaying the inevitable.

Shin Jian smirked, "See, I told you. Yin Wei is too strong. Yin Bai's just stalling now."

Yin Bai's head throbbed from the strain of constant dodging, and then, suddenly, it clicked. "If I can channel some of my Divine Essence fragments to enhance my vision and awareness, I might be able to see a gap in his defenses."

It was a risk, but one he had to take. Yin Bai poured half of his remaining Divine Essence fragments into his eyes and brain, sharpening his awareness. Instantly, the world seemed to slow. He could see Yin Wei's movements with crystal clarity—every shift, every punch. The patterns in Yin Wei's attacks became clear.

Yin Bai shifted his focus, abandoning his defense and concentrating all of his remaining essence on his offensive power.

Then, he stopped moving.

The crowd watched in confusion, unsure of what he was doing. Even Yin Wei hesitated.

Yin Wei sneered and swung, a powerful fist aimed directly at Yin Bai's chest. But Yin Bai moved just before the punch connected, dodging effortlessly. Another punch flew, faster this time, but Yin Bai dodged again, the strike grazing his clothes.

The audience gasped. Yin Bai, who had been on the back foot, was now untouchable.

His vision razor-sharp, Yin Bai weaved through Yin Wei's attacks with fluid grace, each move calculated and precise. Yin Wei's cold confidence faltered as he realized he couldn't land a single hit.

With every dodge, Yin Bai gathered his strength. When the moment was right, he struck. His fists, enhanced by the last of his Divine Essence, hit with brutal force. Each punch landed on a weak point he had carefully observed in Yin Wei's defense.

Yin Wei grunted in surprise as the first punch slammed into his ribs, another into his shoulder, then his abdomen. The tide of the battle had turned. Yin Wei tried to retaliate, but Yin Bai was always a step ahead, dodging and countering with precision.

Finally, Yin Bai saw his opening. He gathered every ounce of power he had left, and with a final burst of strength, delivered a devastating blow to Yin Wei's chest.

The impact echoed through the arena, and Yin Wei stumbled. But instead of collapsing, Yin Wei stood, having used nearly all of his remaining essence to block the blow.

Yin Bai, exhausted, moved in for the final strike, but his body betrayed him—he had no energy left. Yin Wei, seeing this, knew he had to end the fight quickly. He launched a series of punches, but Yin Bai still 'barely managed to dodge, though with increasing difficulty.

Sweat dripped down Yin Wei's face as his Divine Essence dwindled. Desperate, he threw a final punch with all his might. Yin Bai moved to the side to dodge, but Yin Wei's injured side faltered, causing his accuracy to slip. He missed by the smallest margin.

Clutching his side in pain, he still kept his eyes on Yin Bai, ready to defend if necessary. Both fighters were drained of their essence.

Yin Bai smiled. He knew he now held the advantage. With his martial arts experience from Earth, he had more skill in pure combat. Moving in slowly, he feinted a punch, causing Yin Wei to react. In that instant, Yin Bai landed a powerful kick to Yin Wei's injured side, followed by a barrage of punches.

Yin Wei, overwhelmed and unable to defend, crumpled under the assault.

Instructor Lei stepped forward, raising his hand. "The winner of the final battle—Yin Bai!"

Yin Bai stood, panting, his hands resting on his knees as he struggled to catch his breath.

This world is too insane, he thought, shaking his head.

"Alright, it's over for today. Go home and rest up," Instructor Lei said, his eyes fixed on Yin Bai.

I didn't really think he would be the winner, he thought to himself.
