Bob got up from his seat and packed his books into his bag. He began to leave the classroom slowly. Even as he was leaving, he could hear Alex Rode's voice ranting at the top of its pitch.
"You better tell him you are not ready for this exam. You b*tch! Loser!!" Alex cried out in mockery.
Bob carried on. He knew that he would never be able to settle differences with Alex. He left the class still pondering over why Master Ruen had sent for him. His heart skipped as he began to analyze the possible answers to his question.
First, he probably thought that the management of the school wanted him out of the school already. This thought was extremely dreadful to Bob. He didn't want to leave Sparkling College of Magic unfulfilled. He believed that he would one day be successful. Despite the fact that he had failed his exams six times , he wasn't demoralized by that so much. He was still confident in himself.
The second thought that flashed the mind of Bob was related to what he had done in the secret. A crime he didn't want anyone to know of.
Due to his constant failure in school, he had stolen a silver stone from Arch Neo, the class norm of his course. She was a perfect rank A and her position in class was not contended with.
He managed to steal the stone last week during a certain night fall . He really didn't believe that he could steal something and for a first time he felt he was perfect.
But right now, the situation staring at him seemed to cause he clarity to dangle on line. His heart skipped faster as he approached Master Ruen 's office. It tripled further as he placed his hands on the door to knock. After a moment of great hesitation, Bob knocked on the door.
"Get in, the door is open." a deep male voice spoke from inside .
Bob opened the door slowly and his eyes met that of the man on the chair in the office. He had a silk brown hair and a nearly cut moustache. But Master Ruen was not the only one in the office, a man with straight black hair who possessed a scar on his right eye sat in front of Master Ruen 's table. Bob stood, transfixed as he sighted Master Candeliz.
Master Candeliz was a higher rank in the institution than Master Ruen. Master Candeliz was a rank S tutor, lecturing Fire Blazing in the academy. Due to his rank and the course he taught, many students feared him. He was a man who went frank and straight with situations. He was a strick tutor and he went by his words.
Bon gulped hardly. He noticed that the case at hand was indeed serious for Master Candeliz to get involved. Whatever that would wind him to two Masters to send for him was indeed serious.
"Take a seat." Master Ruen said gesturing at a seat beside that of Master Candeliz. Bob quickly rejected the offer. He obviously was not going to sit comfortably with these men pouring tension into his heart. And even if he dreamt of sitting in the office, it wasn't going to be beside Master Candeliz. He decided to keep standing.
"No,no,no. I'm okay here." he rejected politely.
"If that suits you." Master Ruen said and relaxed his weight against the chair, causing Bob to begin to regret his action.
"The reason why you were sent for is simple." Master Ruen said and paused . Bob gulped thin air as his mind raced in thoughts of what next Master Ruen would say .
"Your academic performance is low. We all know how badly you perform in even the simplest course of the school. You haven't just failed it, you have failed it six times. You know that if you fail your upcoming exams , you will be sent out of the school for good."
Bob knew all these he didn't need Master Ruen or anyone to remind him. All that was already screwed up in his head.
"I know all these sir . I am also preparing extremely hard not to slide this chance away." Bob said. Master Ruen smiled and his smile slowly transformed into a light chuckle.
Why the hell was he laughing? Were his words so amusing that he did not notice how amusing they were?
"Sorry, but I couldn't help it . We all know that you are extremely good on the theory but you seem to slack on the physical practical." Master Ruen commented. Bob felt a bit embarrassed by his comment but didn't show it. He bottled up his feelings after all it was the truth.
"You should practice more on that. Besides that is the bulk of the mark . From what I have heard, you hardly make twenty stones in a physical pratical. That is too poor." Master Candeliz said . He hadn't spoken since the conversation began. Bob's eyes fell to the floor.
"We called you to let you know that have decided to help you. And not just you but also those who wallow in the same situation as you do. We are doing this because we know of the effect of our choices in the school." he continued.
Bob's eyes dangled iñ excitement. Was this really happening? The management of Sparkling College of Magic, helping him out? But how? They couldn't possibly gift him stones for free at the detriment of his fellow students. That would be cheating and against ethics and standard .
"I am very grateful masters but may I know how that would be done?" Bob inquired as politely as he could.
"We change the marking scheme from thirty percent of theory and seventy percent of praticals to forty percent of theory and sixty percent of praticals." Master Candeliz said.
Bob's face brighten up on hearing this . They had just taken a decision he had thought of. He couldn't believe that this wss real. He was actually given a second chance. What a dream come true.
"Thank you masters, I am grateful. You have spared me a huge disgrace. I promise not to disappoint you." Bob said with great gratitude flowing in his heart and reflecting on his face.
"You're welcome." the two Masters said
Bob left the office happy with himself. He couldn't believe that he was finally going to have a chance to pass his exams. Though he hadn't written the exam yet, he knew he would obtain good grades this year. He smiled to himself.
"With this I don't think I will need the stone of Neo. I am sure I will be able to make a good grade this year. I think I will need to return this to her." Bob said.
He really believed that he was going to make it. He was a guru in theory. It was certain that he was going to make a comfortable grade this year but something terrible happened to destroy his happiness. Something that he never thought of.
