"I- I didn't mean to!", Ellisa begins and the red haired girl puts a hand on her shoulder, "you'd do best to stay from that reclusive boy."
"But-"
The teacher rushes into the class, ready to start the lecture.
"Lets talk at lunch, okay?", everyone settles down. The guy who actually threw Owen's bag glances at Ellisa slyly. Ellisa internally grumbles,
I just know he did that to distract the class over something.
After class, she hastily gets up from her seat and a flock of girls make their way to her.
"You know, you're really cool for a girl."
"What's your name?"
"Ellisa Brianr."
"So where are you from?"
She smiles awkwardly, "I'm from outside the subcontinent but I studied for a couple years in Corden as an Arts Student and now I'm here to complete Highschool."
One girl grabs her shoulder, "let's get going to the cafeteria, shall we?"
I'm the cafeteria, everyone begins introducing themselves to Ellisa, who's taking mental notes of their details.
Rozei Neuer, some tycoon's third heiress in line.
Sally Brinkley, her sidekick with celebrity parents.
Edward silph, who's dad is an important militant staff member.
Arians grandeur, who's sister is a famous pop idol.
The rest are not exactly important as of yet. She glances around the cafeteria.
"Where's Hailey Summers? I never got to talk to her."
"Oh, she left for her studio nearby, always working, you know. She'll be back for Media Arts class though."
"I'm so lucky to be a part of her class."
"We're there too, you know. "
"But she's like, my favourite singer, you know."
She smiles, "Everyone likes her."
In the distance, a handsome blonde guy with his slicked back here is coming, followed by that guy who threw Owen's bag before. Rosie rushed up to them and brings them to our table,
"Meet Erman, the President's son. You've heard of him, right?"
He's Hailey's ex-fiance from childhood, right? He's also popular as a teen-celebrity for being some sort of prodigy with good looks.
"Nice to meet you, Erman. Who's that guy beside you?"
Rosie breaks down laughing and everyone else giggles,
"Here that, Eva? If only you switched to a girl's uniform, people wouldn't mistake you for a guy."
"But she's wearing the Male's uniform too! And she look like a guy too!"
"Well, yeah, but she has them assets you know. Anyway, so this right here is Eva, Erman's best buddy, got it, Ellisa?"
"Pleased to meet you, Ellisa."
"The pleasure is mine."
She totally got me, didn't she?
"You know," Erman speaks for the first time, "Your face seems like the one my pet has. "
Rozei laughs again, "Enough already!"
"His pet is a monkey.", Eva clarifies.
Ellisa's eye twitches as she grins.
"Isn't that just so sweet? I'd love to meet you pet sometimes. "
Erman smirks before leaving, the rest of the group following him close.
Ellisa rolls her eyes.
What's up with them all of a sudden? Should I follow too?
She jumps.
Oh right! I haven't checked up on Owen!
She runs up to the table where Hailey's sidekick, the one who came with Owen to the class before, is eating lunch alone.
"Do you know where Owen is?"
"That freak? Probably at the rooftop. I don't know him by the way, okay?"
"Huh? I thought you did?"
"Well, I'm Sofia, Hailey's bestfriend."
Sounds like a self-declaration
"Why aren't you eating lunch with her then?"
"We have our reasons. I don't like you, by the way. So don't talk to me."
Not like I want to, either.
She makes a run for the rooftop. There, she finds Owen staring into the distance. He's listening to Hailey's songs, it seems. As she gets nearer, she realises it's one of her favourite songs. She sits beside him and offers him a donut.
"That's my favourite song, you know."
He jumps in surprise.
"You didn't have lunch, did you? It's important to eat all you can, while you can."
He glares at her and shifts away,
"No wonder you're so fat."
"I'm not fat! Just muscular!"
"Why did you come here, anyway? Wanna apologize after you made me a scapegoat to get attention from the popular crew?"
"The what? Listen- I'm sorry for what happened there. It was a total accident. Nut that doesn't mean you accuse me of being a stuck up to some rich kids, okay?"
"Said the rich kid herself. You know why the class is even giving you attention? It's cuz you're from that manor, I heard from Sofia. It's in the Elite Society area, and it's close to Hailey's and Erman's house too. But you know what? This attention won't last for long, if neither of them acknowledge you."
"Well, it's not like I care, okay? Ugh, this conversation is getting nowhere. Besides, class has started, why aren't you taking it?"
"Why would I? Hailey's not there."
She grins, "I get what you mean. You know, I loved staying in Corden but I hated their music. I came across Heli's music really randomly and have been her die-hard fan since."
He doesn't say anything.
"You know, the songs you write are actually pretty good. Companies will probably come rushing to you in a span of a few years, when you get enough experience. "
"I don't care. I'm only ever going to write for Heli only."
Ellisa stays silent then begins,
"You like her in a romantic sense, don't you? Have you ever confessed?"
Owen coughs on the donut due gave him. She grins,
"You haven't, have you? I bet you never even talked to her."
"You're one to talk! I bet you only stared at the back of her head during class too!"
"Now you're getting a personal there..."
The bell rings, it's time for Arts class. They quarrel as they go join the class. It is only when Ellisa grabs a pencil that she remembers she's terrible at art making. There's no way she could make a portrait to save her life.
The teacher enters the room,
"Now, class, today we'll be drawing portraits, as I'm sure you all know. Would anyone like to volunteer?"
The class chimes Hailey and so she's selected.
I bet they did that cuz her face is so symmetrical.
Ellisa begins drawing and cringes at her creation. Owen peeks at her drawing,
"I just know teach will make you drop this class."
"Thanks for the moral support, Bestie."
He side eyes her before ripping out a paper from his notebook and giving it to her. Ellisa gasps inaudibly.
On it are all mini portraits of Hailey, fully detailing the unique set of features she has that make a portrait hers.
A true fan spotted right here.
She still ends up drawing terribly but through the reference sheet, it's clear the portrait is somewhat relevant to Hailey's face, for which the teacher compliments her. Owen, ofcourse, gets the most praise.
Ellisa grins to herself.
I owe him now, don't I?
