The missions made Damian broke in cold sweat. Few of them are okay but what about the other ones. It's simply too difficult, especially the ones with pranks. It seems he needs to get the marauder's map before playing pranks. Damian sighed and packed his luggage up.
Exactly at 11, McGonagall appeared from a vortex and said," we'll do this quickly come on. In Hogwarts apparition is banned inside. So we'll take another route, grab my hand ", Damian grabbed McGonagall's hand and they appeared in front of the leaky couldron.
McGonagall took him to the floor network it seems. She instructed Damian to say the name," Head master's office Hogwarts ", Damian said it a few times and McGonagall nodded. She asked him to throw the powder and say the name. She didn't say anything else.
Damian did it and a green flame enveloped him. He is then thrown from the floor network and landed in front of stand where a big red and gold feathered pheasant is standing. The bird is startled and flew away while Damian coughed the ash and said," easy boy, I'm friendly. It's professor McGonagall who send me here ".
Th bird lowered it's vigilance a little and screeched while Damian understood the screeches," you look funny ", Damian looked at himself and said," yes I do. I suspect professor McGonagall didn't tell what will happen next deliberately ".
Just then a shadow enveloped him and McGonagall's voice is heard," yes I didn't. It's my way of getting you for hugging me without permission ", Damian turned around stiffly and said," ahaha, sorry professor. It's not intentional it's just an impulse of joy ".
McGonagall nodded and said," that's why you're still standing here in shape Mr Damian or else who knows if I turn you into a cat or pig ", Damian smiled wryly and McGonagall asked," and that's professor Dumbledore's bird. It's a legendary phoenix. I hope you didn't anything to it ".
The bird screeched while Damian nodded and said," I did nothing and Fawkes said he wants professor to call him by his rather than bird or phoenix ", McGonagall raised an eyebrow and said," how did know his name? And can you understand his screeches?".
Even Fawkes looked at Damian curiously while Damian smiled wryly and thought,' damn I forgot to hide this. Let's just play along ', Damian said," yes, I can understand animals and their language. I thought many can do it here ".
McGonagall looked at him flabbergasted and Fawkes screeched again, while Damian shook his head and said," no I haven't met another bird like you until now. Yes I spoke to other animals. Like yesterday when I spoke to a cat ".
McGonagall looked at Damian and the phoenix. A man speaking human language and a bird screeching is weird to consider as a conversation. Yest here she is witnessing this. Just then clapping sound is heard and an old man with half moon glasses, crooked nose and wearing long robes approached the bird petting it while it screeched again.
Damian looked at Dumbledore who asked him," what is Fawkes saying Mr Damian? Can I know the meaning of his words? Everytime I pet him he screeches like this ", Damian looked at Fawkes who looked away and said," he is saying he is hungry and wants some cookies crumbs instead of nuts. He is bored eating them ".
Dumbledore looked amused while taking nuts but Fawkes turned away and when he brought pieces of cookies, the bird ate them without hesitation. Dumbledore looked at Damian and said," that's indeed a rare gift. An old friend of mine will be very envious of this ability you showed. He is obsessed with rasng magical creatures and spends time taking care of them most of his time ".
Damian looked at him and said," welcome to Hogwarts Mr Damian. Oh! Forgive this old man for his bad memory, I didn't even introduce myself. I'm Albus Dumbledore, headmaster of Hogwarts ".
The old man smiled a little while Damian said politely," Good morning headmaster. Sorry for the trouble ", Dumbledore smiled and said," not at all. Students in situations like you are rare Mr Damian. Hogwarts will never abandon their students. Professor McGonagall will brief you about your duties here. There isn't much work, just assist hagrid in some duties and it's fine. It'll be a couple hours or so. You can learn things in Hogwarts through library and professors and other professors ".
