After Floyd left the room, I ordered the servants to leave as well. "Time to pull myself together. Let's start by checking the status window." I raised my hand and said, "[Status]" and window appeared in front of me.
"It looks like just in the game," I muttered as I focused on the letters in the status window.
Name: Sylas Von Sylium
Mana: 10
Power: 4
Endurance: 3
Charm: 7
Intelligence: 4
Special abilities: (None)
Bloodline: (Unawakened)
Status: Confusion, Excitement, Anxiety
"If I can access the status window, that means I'm really inside The Dark Knight's Fall, huh." I let myself fall onto the bed and continued examining the status window.
"I'm no different from an ordinary kid except for the mana." My voice was filled with pain. This was probably because Sylas had a significant amount of mana-boosting treasure, being from the Sylium Duchy one of the strongest families, right after the Imperial family, of course publicly…
I slapped my face. "Pull yourself together. It's fine." He might be weak in other areas, but having a lot of mana meant I wouldn't experience [mana depletion] at least not unless I used mid-level spells. 'Not that I think I could even use them,' I shrugged.
Sylas's low intelligence impacts how quickly he can learn spells, which clearly shows he hasn't studied at all. The bloodline hasn't awakened yet good. There's a reason the game is called The Dark Knight's Fall, and it's Sylas's bloodline. In ancient times, many races cooperated and focused on one individual. Yes, that person was the previous owner of this bloodline Grey Von Sylium. The secret that he was the ancestor is hidden deep within the Sylium mansion.
No one knows how Grey suddenly emerged. He had been exiled from the family and didn't possess much power. When he returned, though, he swept through the entire world. Even the gods intervened to stop him, and Grey was eventually destroyed, and the bloodline was sealed.
It seems the seal's duration is running out, allowing Sylas to obtain the bloodline or at least, that's my guess. It's not explicitly stated in the game, but he always awakened it at 14, just before going to the academy. I never played as Sylas before, so I don't know for sure, alright?
Now that I think about it, I don't know why his bloodline caused us to kill him repeatedly, apart from his disgusting personality. 'That was the only comforting thing,' I thought. It was probably just how the developers wanted it to be, but considering his bloodline's past, perhaps he was seen as the enemy of the entire world?
As I lost myself in these thoughts, a middle-aged, well-dressed priest entered the room. 'Look at that costume,' I thought.
"Young master, may I examine you again?" the priest asked as he approached me. Behind him, Floyd had a different expression in his eyes perhaps curiosity?
"Go ahead," I said, giving permission. The priest conducted some checks on my body using divine magic.
"There's no issue. The young master is in good condition," the priest's words caused a slight surprise in Floyd. 'Wasn't it more logical for him to think I was in bad shape?'
I stood up, feeling hunger in my stomach. "I'm fine. Prepare dinner," I ordered. The mansion I was assigned to was separate from the family home, likely due to my problematic behavior.
Finally, Floyd spoke at the door. "Dinner is already prepared, young master. You may head to the dining room." As expected from Floyd, who could be considered the secretary of the Sylium family a powerful one at that…
When I arrived in the dining room, I was the only one sitting at the large table. Neither my family nor Floyd were willing to sit at the same table as me. 'Let's just eat and be done with it,' I thought, noticing the lavish spread on the table, which was quite appetizing compared to my past life. I must've eaten too much.
I decided to take a walk around the mansion. After some time, I saw Arianna in the back garden. Since Floyd hadn't left yet, it was inevitable that she was still here too, I suppose. I noticed the tears streaming from her eyes before approaching her she must've been scolded by her father.
If she weren't Floyd's daughter, anyone else's child would've been executed long ago—it looked like he had explained that quite harshly. I continued walking toward Arianna, who was leaning against a tree. After all, she was on my way. 'Wait, what should I say?' I realized I had no plan when it was too late. As her tear-streaked face turned toward me, her eyes filled with anger, and she stopped crying.
"What do you want?" she asked, her waist-length blonde hair and those cold, red eyes that reminded me of her father focusing on me. In that moment, it crossed my mind that she could kill me right here. I shook my head.
"I'm sorry for what I've done, Arianna," I said, my serious expression and sudden apology must've surprised her, as her eyes widened in shock.
"Excuse me, what?" It took her a few seconds to process my words, and she replied in a stunned voice. 'It's sweet to see her reaction,' I thought.
"I promise I won't hurt you again. Can't we start over?" I extended my hand to Arianna, who was still leaning against the tree, clearly still surprised by my words.
"Are you making fun of me again?" She responded coldly, considering the possibilities.
'Let's try again,' I thought breath
"I realize I was wrong. I just want another chance, please, Arianna," I said. Arianna seemed to be deep in thought at my words.
As she looked at my serious face, she thought, 'Is he lying? Why would Sylas apologize to me? Did the family head ask him to do this? No, no, he wouldn't bother with something so insignificant.' As she carefully watched my face, waiting for my answer, she wondered, 'Maybe he really is sorry.'
While waiting for Arianna's response, I couldn't help but feel tense. 'This is my first step. I suppose it's okay to fail,' I thought, sensing her answer might be negative.
Just as I was bracing myself for the worst, Arianna began to speak. "I'll believe you one last time, Sylas." I pulled back my extended hand and awkwardly smiled I must've let her down a lot when we were younger.
"I'll make sure you won't regret it," or at least, I hope I will…
Suddenly, Floyd appeared from the path I came from. "It's time to go, Arianna. With your permission, young master," he said, casting a glance at me before walking away with his daughter. I suppose there was no reason for them to stay once their business at the mansion was finished.
As they left, I looked up at the stars in the clear sky. "Feels more real than before" A part of me still hoped this was all just a dream…
