Chapter 9 - Excitement

"This will be your room," Heji said to Emrys as they entered one of the rooms in the dormitory. "Just tell me if you need anything. At eight o'clock tonight, your uniforms will be given to you, so you can rest for now or if you want to go out, it's okay. Just don't go far from the dormitory. The teachers and Guild Leaders here are strict, so you know, be careful, especially since you are new. And tomorrow, everything will be explained to you. That's all."

Emrys smiled at him and bowed. "Thank you very much, Brother Heji."

"Here's the key." Heji handed the key, which Emrys accepted.

When Heji left, Emrys waved at him before closing the door and locking it. When Emrys was finally alone, he stood there for a moment. He blew on the key using magic and quietly observed his room.

It was clean. Not very big, but enough for him to feel safe. The bed was soft. Just enough for one person.

He sat down on it. He clasped his hands together while bowing his head. His once cheerful face suddenly became calm and emotionless.

His eyes full of life, blazed with fire as the vibrancy in his gaze disappeared.

His room was dark. He didn't bother turning on the light, so only the moonlight from the window illuminated his back.

The young boy's aura was very dark. It was as if he was suddenly possessed by something when he was alone.

When he waved one hand in the air, countless dark cultivation stones appeared on the floor. They were almost like a mountain in front of him because there were so many.

He took one and examined it. A smile spread across his face as he did so. It seemed like he was holding a very valuable treasure in his hand.

A few hours ago...

Emrys took a stone from the pile and looked up at the monster. "Can I try this?"

"All of that is yours. Through these things, you can unleash the true power that your own body has been suppressing." The wolf said to the young man.

Emrys sat down on the side. He tried to be comfortable until he swallowed the stone.

He closed his eyes and began to cultivate. After a minute of silence, the cultivation stone slowly began to affect his body.

Following this, everything around him slowly began to float. Cauldrons, leaves, pieces of branches, stones.

At the same time, very dark smoke began to emanate from his body.

Emrys was enveloped in the smoke. The air slowly tightened, making the wolf watching him breathe harder and heavier.

He knew the danger of the stone he had given. But even so, he preferred to watch firsthand what would happen to the young man he had entrusted with something more valuable than wealth.

"There are only two things you need to remember when using this. First, you come from the lineage of demons, the Death Lotus Clan. Second, you must be stronger than the being who created me. If either of those things is not fulfilled, this cultivation stone will consume you. It will also cause your immediate death.

"While you are using the stone, its power will try to consume you. And that is what you need to remember always. Because this stone. It is the only thing that will awaken your true power. Valestron..."

Emrys opened his eyes and they were ablaze with fire. Following this, his cultivation ended and he smiled.

A smile that was different from his natural self. "You're right. It seems I'm awake now."

The monster watching the young man smiled widely, extending to both ears. He was happy that the young man, Emrys, was still alive despite the great gamble he had given in front of him.

"Come back when you've used them all."

Emrys noticed the continuous knocking on the door. He had been sitting in the middle of his bed for hours since his cultivation. The mountain of dark cultivation stones was no longer on the floor. The young man got off the bed and went to the door.

He brought out the key he had hidden inside his special Magic Palace and opened the door. He had been studying the Magic Palace for a long time, but now that his magical center was awake, he had only just learned to use it properly.

"What is it?" Emrys greeted the visitor outside with a smile.

It was Heji. He was carrying a folded garment and a pair of shoes on top. "Here's your uniform. There are only two pairs of this and one pair of shoes. Clean yourself first and wear the uniform before you go out."

Emrys accepted the clothes and asked curiously. "Why wear a uniform?"

"There's going to be a gathering for the new students later. Just a small celebration and they'll be choosing you to join their groups. I'll pick you up here again in twenty minutes. I'll leave you for now."

"I'm excited!" Emrys replied and closed the door again.
