Chapter 75 - Chapter 75: Forbidden Spell

"Whoosh~"

The dragon breath, infused with the power of the stars, howled as it erupted forth, engulfing dozens of orcs in its fiery torrent and reducing them to ashes without a hint of resistance!

"A dragon! How is that possible?" Azog gazed in shock at the figure soaring through the sky.

"Dragons…" Bolg's expression turned bloodthirsty.

"Scatter! Roar!" Azog and Bolg instinctively roared together, realizing that the gathered orc army was the perfect target for the dragon.

"Damn it! Pull it up!" Azog fumed, completely taken aback by the enormous "surprise" this seemingly unremarkable city had given him.

A few orcs worked together to draw back the massive dragon-hunting crossbow.

Although called a small dragon-hunting crossbow, its size was anything but small!

A few orc warriors hurriedly brought forth their deadly weapon, which Bard and Rynar would undoubtedly recognize as the dwarven-made bane of dragons — the Black Arrow!

With a wave of his hand, Azog signaled for one orc to take the Black Arrow and load it into the crossbow.

As for why the orcs had dwarven weapons designed to combat dragons… Well, you might want to ask Moria about that.

Only the heavens know how many dwarven weapons were left behind in the ancient dwarven kingdom…

Now, Azog had a total of eleven Black Arrows!

The allied forces were completely unaware of this, but each Black Arrow was inscribed with countless magical runes, incorporating dozens of spells!

These spells provided unparalleled acceleration and flight speed. They also possessed strong anti-magic and armor-piercing effects specifically designed to breach dragon scales.

The blood-burning magic could ignite dragon blood and tear wounds after piercing the scales.

Most crucially, firing the Black Arrows was incredibly simple.

Specifically, the speed of the Black Arrows did not depend on the launcher; their built-in wind-type magic runes could propel them to extreme speeds in a short time.

The activation condition was that once the arrow's speed exceeded a certain threshold, the runes would automatically activate, launching it.

This was evident when Bard used a broken bow to shoot a Black Arrow and hunt Smaug in the original work.

"Aim at him! Lock on! Hunt him down!" Azog bellowed, pointing at the rampaging Celestial Dragon above.

Elandor, who was unleashing his dragon breath in the sky, had no idea that death was reaching out for him from below.

"What the hell is this trashy giant dragon?" Vanervi scoffed, watching the Celestial Dragon flaunting its power in the air.

"Why doesn't Sir Elandor let the dragon use dragon language magic?"

Reynard wondered, recalling that in his memory, dragon riders typically used dragon breath as a fundamental technique, while the various and rich types of dragon language magic showcased the rider's own value.

"I think I understand something…" Rynar suddenly twitched the corner of his mouth, as if recalling some bad associations.

"Your Majesty, it can't be…" Radir wiped the cold sweat off his forehead, leaning on his staff.

"I knew it!" Rynar could only lament at this point.

"Stop beating around the bush! What's going on?" Vanervi pressed for answers.

"It should be that the Celestial Dragon has left its own dragon barrier, and most of its source power is tied up in maintaining that barrier…

So the Celestial Dragon can't use several types of dragon language magic right now.

Elandor must know this; he plans to save those precious spell slots as trump cards!" Rynar helplessly rubbed his forehead.

"..." Vanervi.

"..." Reynard.

"..." Aivy.

"..." Lance.

"...As expected…" Radir.

"Ridiculous!" Everyone chorused.

"Since we're here, let's prepare for battle!" Rynar sighed. The forest elves were unreliable, and the Celestial elves weren't much better; this battle was going to be tough.

"Rrip!" The high-speed airflow tore through the sky, and everyone saw the fleeting black flash, hearing the terrifying sound of tearing.

"Roar!" The Celestial Dragon howled in pain, rolling wildly in the air from the intense agony, nearly throwing Elandor off its back as noble dragon blood rained down.

"Damn it! What is that?" Vanervi exclaimed, witnessing the shocking scene.

"Black Arrow!" Rynar's expression immediately darkened.

Knowing that the orcs were equipped with dragon-hunting crossbows, he had carelessly forgotten that the dwarven kingdom of Moria had long been occupied by the orcs! There might be a stockpile of Black Arrows within…

"Holy crap! Black Arrow?" Caslow's eyes widened in shock.

Without a second thought, he leaped onto his dragon Kaldor and shot up into the sky, disappearing into the clouds.

Given his dragon's slender limbs, getting hit by a Black Arrow could send him straight to the afterlife.

"Skye! What's wrong with you?" Elandor clung tightly to the dragon saddle, his eyes filled with panic.

"Damn dwarves! Damn Black Arrows! Damn orcs! Die!" Skye, the Celestial Dragon, dove from the heights despite the searing pain, unleashing a torrent of dragon breath infused with celestial power that instantly obliterated the small dragon-hunting crossbow and nearly a hundred surrounding orcs.

"Elandor! It's the Black Arrow! I've been hit!" Skye's weak yet furious voice echoed in Elandor's mind, having transmitted the message through their dragon-rider bond.

"Damn it! How could the orcs have Black Arrows?" Elandor instantly exploded in rage.

"Get out of here! We need to leave!" Elandor quickly communicated with Skye's mind.

"It's fine! That arrow hasn't severely injured me! I need you to use your keen eyes to keep an eye on the orcs below; I want revenge!"

The furious Celestial Dragon roared, the immense power of the dragon flowing out from the wound on its left front limb.

Obscure dragon language magic resonated from its mouth, and a star in the sky glimmered in response to the incantation…

"Forbidden Spell — Celestial Dragonfall!"

As the final dragon language syllable fell from the Celestial Dragon's mouth, a shining star rapidly approached from the sky, accompanied by the ear-splitting sound of friction as a meteor ignited with blue flames hurtled down!

"Crap! Everyone, duck down!" Rynar screamed in terror at the descending meteor, his voice reaching a pitch that could rival a soprano's.

"Damn!" Reynard didn't hesitate, rolling down the slope without a second thought.

"By the Dragon God!" Lance swallowed hard, glancing at Rynar before decisively picking up his tower shield to protect the stunned priest Aivy in front of him.

"Earth Barrier!" Radir instantly cast a high-level earth magic spell, creating a dirt barrier to envelop everyone. (War mages are amazing! One person can change the course of a war.)

"Singray elves, heed my command! Jump back into the city!"

Elenthor felt her hands and feet turn cold as she watched the meteor approaching, cursing Elandor and the Celestial Dragon in her heart.

Did they have to launch a group-killing forbidden spell right next to their allies?

"Jump!" Aranthor, ever succinct, led the way, leaping off the city wall.

"Buzz!" A blinding starburst erupted, a brilliant blue semicircular halo rapidly expanding within the orc army, the rushing starlight swiftly engulfing the fleeing orc forces.

The orcs caught in the initial wave were instantaneously dissolved, while those subsequently caught in the starlight wailed as they melted away…

This was the great power of the Celestial Dragon! The protection of the barrier and the dissolving might of starlight!

"Boom!" The wooden and stone structures of Loshanier City's walls crumbled, disintegrating, and dissolving under the brilliant starlight.

The elves and humans sheltering behind the walls trembled in the wake of the forbidden spell's aftermath.

"That wasn't the best time to cast that forbidden spell," a dirt-smeared Aranthor remarked as he found the equally disheveled Elenthor.

"But that was the time we needed it the most…" Elenthor sighed.

"The Celestial Dragon only has one strike's worth of power; it doesn't have the capacity to cast a second forbidden spell.

Clearly, that last forbidden spell won't wipe out all the orcs since they're too spread out…"

Elenthor lamented, fully aware that the Celestial Dragon had left most of its source power behind to maintain the Singray barrier.

"So, you're saying we'll still face a bloody battle?" Aranthor was dumbfounded. Did that magnificent forbidden spell not take out all the orcs?

"Better than facing tens of thousands of orcs in a death struggle!" Elenthor shot him a glare, irritated.
