Wu Jian struck without warning, his sword flashing in the dim light of the tomb. His followers joined the attack, their blades cutting through the air as they aimed for Lei Chen and Lan Mei.
Lei Chen's instincts kicked in, his body moving in perfect harmony with his qi. His War God techniques allowed him to deflect Wu Jian's strikes, but the sheer number of attackers was overwhelming.
Lan Mei fought back as well, but it was clear that they were outnumbered.
"This is madness!" Lei Chen shouted as he blocked another strike. "We're all after the same thing!"
Wu Jian's face twisted in rage. "That's exactly why I'm going to kill you. The Scarlet Flame Jade will be mine."
The battle raged on, but Lei Chen knew they couldn't keep this up. They were in the heart of the tomb, surrounded by ancient traps and restless spirits. One wrong move could spell disaster.
"Lan Mei!" Lei Chen called out. "We need to retreat."
Lan Mei nodded, and together, they fought their way deeper into the tomb, leaving Wu Jian and his group behind. They knew it wasn't over—Wu Jian would come for them again. But for now, they needed to regroup.
