Michael wrapped an arm around me, pressing a kiss to my head . "I think we've earned it." 

 

Our daughter cooed in her bassinet beside us, her tiny hands reaching for the sky. For the first time in a long time, the future felt bright. 

 

But as the stars began to appear in the night sky, i couldn't shake the lingering feeling that their journey wasn't quite over. 

 

The soft glow of the morning sun spilled through the open curtains, casting a golden hue across the spacious nursery. I stood by the crib, my hands gently resting on the wooden edge as i gazed down at my baby girl.

 

 The infant stirred in her sleep, tiny lips pursing as if dreaming of something sweet. I smiled, a mixture of joy and serenity washing over me. It had been months since the storm of chaos had ended, yet the peace that followed felt surreal, almost fragile.
