Margaret glanced at me, then back at her son. "Liam's actions have put the family in a difficult position. George is furious, and the board is starting to question whether Liam's involvement in the business is maintainable."
I felt a chill run down my spine. The fallout from Liam's betrayal was only getting worse.
Michael's jaw clenched, his hands balling into fists. "He's gone too far this time."
Margaret nodded solemnly. "I agree. But the question now is how we handle this without further damaging the family's reputation. There are whispers that the media might soon get hold of Liam's illegal dealings. If that happens, the Hartley name will be dragged through the mud."
My stomach churned. I had seen firsthand how ruthless the media could be, especially when it came to the Hartleys. They would tear Liam apart—and by extension, i and the baby.
