I sit up quickly with my pulse getting faster. "About what?"
He steps inside the room, closing the door behind him. "About how we're going to make this work."
"There's nothing to work," I snap ,feeling the frustration boiling all over me. "This is a disaster, and it's not going to get better just because we pretend it is."
Michael raises an eyebrow, his expression looking cool. "You think I don't know that? This isn't about pretending things are fine. This is about managing the fallout."
"Managing the fallout?" I repeat with my voice rising. "Is that all this is to you? Damage control?"
Michael crosses his arms, tightening his jaw. "I'm trying to protect both of us. You barged into my life, slapped me in front of half the city, and accused me of getting you pregnant. Now, we're in this together whether we like it or not."
