The moon hung low in the night sky, shrouded by dark clouds that threatened rain. The air around the warehouse crackled with tension as i adjusted the earpiece in my ear, my eyes scanned the quiet, dimly lit surroundings.

 

The building loomed ahead, a stark reminder of Victor's network of deceit. I glanced over my shoulder at Isabella, who sat beside him in the car, determination written on her face despite her pale complexion.

 

"Are you sure you're ready for this?" I asked, my voice a mixture of concern and resolve.

 

Isabella nodded, her hand resting protectively on her stomach. "This isn't just about us, Michael. It's about securing our baby's future. I won't sit on the sidelines anymore."

 

I sighed heavily, my fingers tightening around the steering wheel. "I understand. But if things get dangerous, you stay in the car. Promise me."
