I watched the exchange in silence, my mind preoccupied with thoughts of Julian. The idea of him working alongside Victor, of him being groomed to destroy my family, made my stomach churn. I had known betrayal before, but this felt deeply personal in a way i couldn't shake. 

 

 

As night fell, Michael and i prepared for the mission. Caroline insisted on staying behind to monitor things from a distance, her worry for my health growing with each passing day. 

 

"You shouldn't be doing this," Caroline said, her voice tight with concern as she helped me into a more practical outfit. "You're pushing yourself too hard." 

 

"I'll be fine," i said, forcing a smile. "Michael won't let anything happen to me. And besides, I need to see this through. For our family." 

 

Caroline sighed but didn't argue further and stepped outside.
