"Because I've been where you are," the man said, his tone dark. "Victor uses people like pawns. The moment you're no longer useful, you're expendable."
My throat tightened. "And what do you suggest I do?"
The man slid a flash drive across the table. "This has everything you need to take him down. But if you're going to use it, you need to act fast. Victor's not the kind of man who leaves loose ends."
I stared at the flash drive, my mind racing. If i used it, I'd be burning my last bridge. But if i didn't, my fate was already sealed.
I pocketed the drive, my decision made. "Thank you," i said, my voice steadier than i felt.
"Don't thank me," the man replied. "Just make sure you don't end up like the rest of us."
I left the bar, my grip on the flash drive tightening as i stepped into the rain. The storm wasn't over yet, but for the first time, i felt like i had a fighting chance.
