ISABELLA'S POV:
My thoughts were interrupted by Caroline's voice from the doorway. "Isabella? Are you okay?"
I looked up, startled. "Caroline. I didn't hear you come in."
I sat alone in the study. The photo and documents were spread out in front of me, mocking me with their revelations. I traced my fingers over my father's handwriting on one of the old letters Michael had found. It was a memo to his board, outlining his plans to secure the deal that had destroyed Victor.
Caroline stepped inside, her expression cautious. "You've been quiet since last night. I wanted to check on you."
I hesitated before gesturing to the documents. "I've been going through these. Trying to make sense of it all."
Caroline moved closer, her eyes scanning the papers. "It's a lot to take in."
