Chapter 5
As they lingered over their coffee, Sophia decided to take a chance and ask Matteo directly if everything was okay. She reached out and touched his arm, her eyes locking onto his.
"Matteo, is everything all right?" she asked, her voice soft and gentle. "You seem a little... distracted."
Matteo's eyes flickered, and for a moment, Sophia thought she saw a flash of vulnerability. But then, his mask slipped back into place, and he smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
"I'm fine, Sophia," he said, his voice reassuring. "Just a little preoccupied with work, that's all."
Sophia wasn't convinced, but she didn't push the issue. Instead, she changed the subject, asking Matteo about his favorite hobbies and interests.
As they talked, Sophia found herself feeling more and more at ease with Matteo. She loved the way he laughed, the way his eyes sparkled when he talked about something he was passionate about.
But despite the easy camaraderie between them, Sophia couldn't shake the feeling that Matteo was still holding something back. She sensed that there was more to him than met the eye, and she found herself wondering what secrets he might be hiding.
As the afternoon wore on, Sophia glanced at her watch and realized that she had to leave soon. She had a meeting with a potential client, and she couldn't afford to be late.
"I'm so sorry, Matteo," she said, standing up and gathering her things. "But I have to run. I have a meeting in an hour."
Matteo stood up, too, and walked Sophia to the door. "It was great seeing you again, Sophia," he said, his eyes locked onto hers. "Let's do it again soon?"
Sophia smiled, feeling a flutter in her chest. "I'd like that," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
As they said their goodbyes, Sophia couldn't help but wonder what the future held for her and Matteo. Would they become close friends, or was something more developing between them? Only time would tell.
As Sophia walked out of the coffee shop, she couldn't shake off the feeling that she had just experienced something special. She felt a sense of excitement and anticipation, wondering what the future held for her and Matteo.
As she walked to her meeting, Sophia's mind wandered back to Matteo. She thought about his warm smile, his piercing eyes, and his charming personality. She couldn't help but feel drawn to him, and she found herself wondering if he might feel the same way.

Just as Sophia was starting to think about ways to ask Matteo out, her phone buzzed with an incoming text message. She smiled as she saw Matteo's name on the screen.
"Hey Sophia, I had a great time talking to you today," Matteo's message read. "Would you like to grab dinner with me tonight?"
Sophia's heart skipped a beat as she read the message. She couldn't believe that Matteo was asking her out on a date! She quickly typed out a response, trying to play it cool.
"I'd love to," she replied. "What time and where?"
Matteo responded with a time and a restaurant, and Sophia couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. She had a feeling that this was going to be a night to remember.
