Ivo ran through the dark tunnel, his hand swayed both way, looking for the walls or if there was anything in front of him. The groaning sound grew louder, he had to find Jakob or Rolan.
He heard the creaking sound in the corner, it sounded like a human. He slowly followed the sound, the sound grew louder as he pulled the bow beside him toward the sound.
"Say potato if you are human" Ivo called out, it was risky but at this point he didn't have a choice, he had warned them about the mountains.
"Po—pota…to" the voice called out with fear, Ivo was already kneeling beside the person.
"Jakob?? Rolan??" Ivo called out.
"I lied the voice called out in more of an evil laughter," Ivo wanted to pull back, but he felt a hand inside him squeezing. The creature had pierced him; full hand in his side.
He cried in pain as he felt the creature had pulled at his ribs.
Strength left his body as he slowly fell over in pain, twitching. He still couldn't see the creature as the darkness slowly covered his eyes.
"I hate this place" he called.
"Ivo! Ivo! IVO!!"
Ivo eyes blinked as he stared at Jakob and Rolan standing in front of a dark entrance of the mountains.
"Are you coming or not??" Jakob asked.
Ivo sighed as he took his hand off the mountain.
"This is a bad idea" he called out.
"Yeah! You have said that a million times" Jakob replied as he disappeared inside the cave, followed by Rolan who gave Ivo a hard stare like yes I know it is a bad idea.
Ivo stared at the black rock of the mountains, he could swear that the mountains itself was alive. He could hear a faint breath coming from the mountains.
He wasn't a religious person, but he prayed, "I didn't come all the way to die in a possessed mountain" Ivo said to himself as he walked in.
As expected, it was dark, the light from outside didn't even enter the mountain. It was like it was absorbed by the wall. A spark of flame flew and Jakob was holding a torch.
"Well? We can't walk in the dark, right?"
Ivo had a bad feeling about the light but shook it to the back of his mind, he turned back to stare at the entrance again but froze.
"Mennn; I hate horror movies, props!."
Jakob and Rolan turned to Ivo, who stared at the entrance that was now gone—in its place was a dark wall just like the entire mountain.
"Well, this means we have to only go forward" Jakob said, trying to be optimistic, but Ivo could sense the fear behind his voice.
He turned to Rolan, "you said you knew the way, right?"
"I think so"
"You think so?" Ivo called out but calmed down. "That's better than nothing, but if I die, my ghost is coming for both of you."
Rolan took the torch from Jakob and walked to the front of group as the duo followed him.
He regularly checked the walls of the mountains for a white mark that was in the form of an arrow showing the directions to take.
"Keep your hand on the wall so we will know when we make a turn" Ivo called out as he placed his hand again.
This time he heard it, it was loud and angry.
"GET OUT!!"
Ivo pulled his hand away immediately, he held it with his other hand as he took deep breaths, the others stared at him.
"Are you okay, Ivo?" Jakob asked.
"Did you hear that?" Ivo asked.
"Hear what?"
"That voice? It was angry."
"I didn't hear anything" Jakob replied, he turned his head to Rolan who nodded in agreement.
"This is some Halloween shit going on, and I don't like"
"Just calm down Ivo"Jakob called out.
But Ivo was not listening, he was staring at the things ahead of them as he could see figures staring at them, about three of them—two of them sitting on the wall with one in the middle standing on all toes. Their eyes were bloodred that shinned in the darkness, their body was black like the walls.
Ivo swallowed hard, he had learned one thing from scary movies. Keep your eyes on the creature, he slowly took a step back as Jakob looked at him confused.
One of the creatures took a step forward as Ivo screamed "RUN" and took off.
The trio ran back from the directions they came from, making multiple turns, the groaning grew louder as they made several turns before coming to a dead end.
"Ivo what was the meaning of that?" Jakob asked, panting lacking breath.
"What was what? Didn't you hear the groaning?"
"No, Ivo I did not! Ivo, if you are scared you can go back to the castle and hide, but I have to save Ida."
"Oh, you think I don't want to save her too?"
"Then act like it."
"You don't know what I saw."
"What did you see? Are you a priest now??"
"Shut up Jakob."
"Or what? You will tackle me to the ground in one of your fancy moves again?"
"Oh I can do more than that" Ivo replied taking off his bag as Jakob drew his sword.
Rolan stood between them pushing them back.
Ivo took deep breaths, running his hand through his hair "FUCKK!!" He screamed and paced up and down.
"I know our way back, we can keep moving but this time more quiet and collected, okay?" Rolan called out as he stared at both of them.
Ivo nodded. He had to keep his cool, this place was messing with him and if he lost concentration for one second, his body would fight him off.
"Sure" Jakob replied.
Ivo took out the rope from his bag, tieing it around his wrist and then passing it to Rolan who did the same and then Jakob.
"We got separated in my visions, trust me that's the last thing that we want to happen."
They both nodded as Ivo stared at the corner, seeing the three creatures staring at them again.
"You are not real, you are not real." Ivo murmured.
