SADLY, SHE WASN'T, the gunman didn't suspect a thing, it was just an overgrown wannabe hero high schooler trying to impress a girl—he was going to teach him a lesson or two, he drew too close for comfort, and it happened so fast a swipe kick took him off his feet and a choke punch knocked the lights out of him.
Before the other two could react, fort was already hurdling over bodies toward them as he tackled the closest one knocking him against a stand rail which broke off, he tossed him like a rag door toward the mob who pounced on him.
The last one tried to run but fort was already giving chase, eve knew the last guy won't make it pass the first cabin, she had seen fort race against faster things in more complex situations and won this was going to be easy.
Sadly, she was mistaken again, fort was already closing in, and the last guy had no plans of having his ass handed to him by a high schooler—he had no plans of becoming mob meat, he made a swift turn and unzipped his jacket.
Eve screamed at fort to stop, she saw it meaning he saw it too, he was always a dive first, questions later kind of person but not in this situation, there will probably be no questions later as rolls of homemade explosions were wrapped around the third guy's body.
Fort eyes scanned the train, he could see the window that was big enough to size both of them, he already knew what he had to do.
He didn't look back, for the first time in his life he was scared of loosing someone, he wasn't swinging his fist because he was the biggest, strongest person, rather he was protecting people and that felt good.
The last guy cried out a word that sounded like for the red queen before igniting the bombs by pulling a string, but fort was already in front of him as he tackled him through the window crashing out of the train, eve ran shoving the mob aside, but Ronny held her down and laid on top her as a loud boom shook the train throwing it off course crashing on it sides.
"Ronny get the fuck off me" eve screamed as she rolled him over, she discovered he was already unconscious as she pulled him toward the corner, tears rolled down her eyes as she could feel a stinging pain on her left arm, but she chose to ignore it.
She could hear the police drawing close, she could tell that Ronny might not make it she screamed for help, she could hear a medic helicopter hovering above them as they lowered medical units to the scene, her vision was blurry.
"Fort" she called out, but he didn't reply, she wanted all of this to just be a dream, a bad dream, but sadly, it wasn't as her vision turned black.
She wanted to run, but she would rather not ruin her dress, she found herself stopping periodically to pull her red silk dress and catch her breath in the long hallway.
He wasn't supposed to wake up, she had been assured that he wasn't going to make it, she had been assured by the doctors he would never make it.
Even if he did wake up, she just had to kill him again, and this time she was going to make sure he never made it back to life.
Fort felt warm, he knew there was no way to survive that explosion, he wasn't supposed to feel anything or was it he didn't know, he hoped that eve and Ronny were safe.
He could feel his eyelids, wait he had eyelids he thought as he swung them open, but the light was too bright as he shut them immediately and groaned, his body was growing even warmer, he could feel it as the warmth travelled toward his head.
Then it came, the worse pain he had ever felt, he felt like dying—he knew he was being rejected by the body, it wasn't his, he didn't feel comfortable, but he had always been a fighter that haven't lost, and he wasn't going to lose now.
He pulled back, he fought to stay awake and fight to keep his sanity as his body jerked from the pain, he was going into shock as the pain was attempting to shut down the body because of the pain, he wanted to give up—he could feel the relief as he did but with it came a soft pleading voice Fight, it's yours now, fight and he did.
How long has it been? He had no idea, but the pain was almost gone, but the voice remained pushing him like a coach—if a coach sounded like all his family and friends.
He thought of eve again, and he didn't know if she was fine, was he in a hospital, but the bed was too soft and low for a hospital bed, he had been there so many times that he had his bed so he knew, this was different and he didn't like it.
Once in a while he opened his eyes, but the light was still too bright, how long had this body been out, he could feel his joints ache, he wanted to move so badly but his limbs refused.
Finally, the door swung open, he couldn't lift his head, but he could hear the footstep grew closer, fort didn't enjoy the idea of being unable to defend himself, but he decided to lay still, the figure was now closer as he felt their warm lips on his, he slowed his breath and waited.
They finally pulled back and stroked his hair, so many thought ran through his mind, they can't be his enemy they would have just killed him? Was it eve? Who was it?
He had to risk it.
"Can you turn the light eve or more it away from my face" fort asked, he felt the figure move away from him as they crashed into a table—he could hear the glass shatter on the floor as the figure screamed.
