Elvis, Lisa, and Estabel had been inseparable since childhood, drawn together by the lack of love in their respective homes. To outsiders, Elvis was the son of Mr. Elliott Charles, the wealthiest man in the country with his next worth surpassing the Rowland and Daniel family assets combined.
Every family has a secret kept away from people. Everyone outside knows that Mr Eliott has only two children, but only people within the Charles family know that Elvis isn't biologically related to them.
Each family member has their eye on the assets of Mr. Elliott; when Mr. Elliott issues a press release declaring Elvis as his next heir to the company, this single news disrupts the peace of Charles's family.
They had always treated Elvis, why would any outsiders inherit a family asset that still has its bloodline alive? They asked each other daily.
Only a few people knew the real reason: Elvis was not Elliott's biological child. His mother, Isabel, once had a fiance; both of them were from an average family, but one day, she was abandoned by her childhood sweetheart for someone from a wealthy family, leaving her devastated.
One month later she found out that she was pregnant. She tried to reach her ex-fiance. Unable to reach her ex because he had changed his line and blocked her everywhere on social media; his family once treated her like pearls and now treated her like trash. She had turned to Elliott, a longtime friend, who had always secretly loved her despite the huge difference in social status. Despite opposition from his family, Elliott married Isabel and kept fulfilling his promise to Isabel to treat Elvis as his biological son.
Elvis grew up in a hostile environment, which sharpened his instincts for detecting danger. When he walked into the bar and saw Lisa and Estabel drinking, something immediately felt off. Just as he was about to turn back and survey the environment from afar, he realized someone had blocked his exit from behind. Sensing the potential threat and not wanting to be in a tight corner, he approached the girls cautiously. Estabel, already tipsy, was the first to notice him and called out his name loudly, her voice cutting through the music.
"Elvis! Hey, everyone, my unofficial boyfriend is back!" she joked, laughing.
Elvis attempted to signal the girls that something was wrong, but both Lisa and Estabel were too intoxicated to notice. Estabel continued to tease, with her loud voice drawing attention to them.
"Hey, Elvis! I heard your uncle Jonas is rallying shareholders against you. What are you gonna do? If your family keeps bothering you, I don't mind marrying you into mine! Or maybe Lisa could be a better match, what do you think Lisa?" she asked drunkenly
Though Estabel's words were playful, the situation wasn't.
" If he would be a good boy and not go for Melinda, I don't mind" Lisa muttered
Elvis tried to cover their mouth but they kept talking out of point.
Elvis quickly realizes that someone has been watching them the entire time, though he doesn't know the intention of whosoever has their eyes on the girls. He knew it was risky taking the girls home all by himself and he couldn't afford to be attacked while trying to protect them. Instead, he booked a room for the night, and with the help of a waitress, they carefully brought the girls upstairs.
After making sure they were comfortable, he decided to lock the room from the outside to ensure their safety.
Just as Elvis was locking the door from the outside, he heard footsteps coming towards him, just as he turned around to see who it was, a fist collided with his face. He staggered, surprised by the sudden attack.
Meanwhile, Brian had been at the bar with his friends. One of them, Justin, had spotted Lisa across the room, resting on a guy's shoulder.
"Brian, isn't that your ex-fiancée over there?" Justin asked, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"No, that can't be her. She hates bars and noisy places," Brian replied dismissively.
But Justin insisted and pointed toward Lisa. Everyone turned to look, seeing Lisa and Elvis together. Brian's face darkened as his friends started to crack jokes.
"Looks like this is the reason she called off the engagement."
"Who is that guy? Never seen him around."
"Bet he's just some random dude, probably a pervert taking advantage of drunk girls."
"He even booked a room for them. Guess they know each other pretty well, huh?"
"Looks like Lisa enjoys it gently. Too bad she didn't give Brian a shot—he's as tender as they come," one friend snickered.
Annoyed by the taunts, Brian stormed over to the front desk to inquire about the room Elvis and the girls were in.
Elvis decided to lock the door from the outside for safety purposes. Just as he was locking the door, he heard a quick footstep behind him, turning to know who it was; a punch was thrown at his face, catching him off guard. Brian prepared to punch him again, but Elvis was fast to catch his fist in mid-air.
With each question Brian asked, a punch was thrown at Elvis while Elvis tried his best to avoid the punch.
Though Elvis is from an elite family, he keeps a low profile, and only a few business partners of his Dad know him. He isn't surprised that Brian isn't able to recognize him, but he knows the Rowland family more well than Brian himself.
"Who are you? Are you a pervert? What are you doing with those girls? What's your relationship with Lisa? Are you the reason why Lisa called off the engagement?" Brian demanded angrily while trying to punch Elvis.
Elvis, his face calm despite the attack, let go of Brian's hand. "I don't know why you punched me without asking questions first. And since you've already made up your mind, I owe you no explanations." He walked away, leaving Brian standing there, frustrated and fuming.
