Guilia POV:
I huffed down the street stomping, but I stopped when I realized I was being too hard on my new boots. I looked down and pouted licking my thumb and taking out a smudge. Daddy wouldn't be happy about this, he told me to get her alone so we could get her home. I still don't know everything that happened but I know that Risci bastard stuck his nose into our business. Dad said he was in love with Arianna, why she is his type I'll never know. I'm younger and it is a known fact that men are supposed to like younger women.
I crossed my arms and growled marching over to my car and slumping into my seat. I guess I still had some hard feelings about him turning me down, which was ridiculous, by the way. I had been flirting with him all night and he seemed into it, buying me drinks, dancing with me, having his hand on my thigh then poof he disappeared. I guess he figured out who I was, my dad didn't let me go around flashing that I was his daughter because he figured out I was pretty good at getting info from people, they don't suspect the pretty dumb blonde.
I huffed again and moved my hair to the side before I called him, he wouldn't be happy but he would've liked a huge blood bath in the streets less.
"Well?" He asked.
"No," I scoffed, no hi honey are you okay, those Risci creeps were totally ogling me, but no no let's all worry about Arianna.
"Why the hell not," He growled his voice raising I flinched instinctively.
"Why do you think Daddy, he has her under watchdog protection. There were like twenty of them, it would have been a mess and you said quietly," I shot back, I swear he always forgot the Giovanni thought ahead, my stupid sister had handed herself over to him and now he had dirt on my dad. At least that's what Dad says, but Arianna wouldn't be able to give dirt over on her dad not after mommy dearest going bye bye. I swear my sister reeked of daddy issues, no wonder she had thrown herself at the nightmare that was Giovanni Risci.
"God Dammit," He grunted but he wasn't going totally ape shit so I knew he knew I was right.
"I'll try again later, she'll give in eventually I mean she's such a prude and Giovanni is so touch starved he's gonna try something and she'll come running home,"
"Don't underestimate your sister or that fucking greasy pig! If she gets any whiff that we've set her up to get information on him she could give him the information she has," he snapped, why he held her in such high regard I don't understand.
"I doubt she has anything Daddy she didn't even get a look at our actual books," I tried to reason with him, I feel like there was something I didn't know, but he told me everything so I doubt that was it.
My father was silent for a moment before he let out a long sigh "You're right honey,"
I smirked to myself, proud that I had managed to calm him down. He didn't normally get this worked up but he had been trying to squash Giovanni for like three years now and that little bug had managed to stay alive.
All because of a little bomb, couldn't he just roll over like everybody else? I mean sure over the years there had been one or two fools who tried to stand up to my Dad or get the better of him. They all got what they deserved.
I settled down and checked the clock on my dash, shit. "Ugh I have to meet Marco for lunch," I whined.
That big meathead was such a goon, and he barely had a personality. He didn't like shopping, he didn't like cars, he just liked working out. I could barely stand him, the only thing he had going for him was his face. We looked damn good in photos, but on the days I actually had to have conversations with him, ugh I'd rather take a needle to the eye.
"Be nice! That boy is wrapped around your finger you better keep it that way," My dad warned me.
"Please I could spit on his face and he'd say thank you he's totally whipped and probably has mommy issues, but yeah yeah I'll be an angel," I rolled my eyes as I started my car and peeled out into the street.
It took a bit I had to totally pretend to fall for him. We met by "coincidence" he rescued me at a bar. He didn't trust me at first and there was this moment of "betrayal" when I told him who I was, but I assured him that I cared deeply for him, and wouldn't tell my father a thing. It was Dad's idea to give him some information by accident so he would trust me more. Now he's my bitch. He tells me like everything about his cousin, and his operation, he's a complete bore, but I get a pretty wedding out of it so I don't care.
Besides I'd rather marry a handsome bore like Marco, instead of one of my father's slimy greasy ball associates. Those pigs made me gag with the way they stared at me, one other good thing about Marco, when he was around they were too scared to do anything gross.
I whizzed by the city into my dad's part of town, parking in front of the cafe. I adjusted myself getting ready to meet him. Perking myself up and fixing my face, I had to look goof for my man after all.
I strutted into the cafe and Marco lit up when he saw me. Perfect. It was hard not to feel confident when a man is so enamored with you, and what's wrong with getting the confidence you need?
"Hi, Honey," I walked over sitting down and kissing him on the cheek.
"Hi, gules," He held my hand staring down at me like I was the sun and the moon. I did expect Giovanni's cousin to be a little more with it, a tougher nut to crack, but Marco wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed.
"How was your day?" I asked feigning that I cared about his well being starting off the same boring conversation, I'm sure he thought I actually cared but I always managed to get the conversation back to his work or his cousin. He may have thought that I just wanted what was best for him, that I was invested in his well being. People tended to look for what they wanted.
He mumbled about hard work and hinted that he was unhappy with the strife between our families when we were getting married. Giovanni was putting pressure on him to leave me of course, but he wouldn't. I doubt Gio was telling him everything anymore but maybe he knew enough. I agreed with him saying it was hard to plan without my maid of honor around, unfortunately, he didn't know where my sister was staying, and I doubted she'd be comfortable enough to stay at Giovanni's den of debauchery.
Daddy had been watching her for a while and she hadn't even looked at a man in like a year, she was frigid and he was a cretin. They wouldn't be together.
"I have to work late this weekend," He interrupted my thoughts.
"Uggggh," I whined and pouted and he smiled cupping my cheek. It was sweet how tender the big guy could be, if I were really into him I'm sure that would have an effect on me.
"Gio needs me I have to go all the way down to the docks," He explained.
"What for?" I pushed faking anger that my fiance would be away from me.
He shook his head and took his hand away the clear sign he couldn't tell me and I shouldn't ask which is why I knew he was hiding something good. I always gave the information over to Daddy, he decided what to do with it.
If it were up to me we would use everything and Gio would be done by now, but Dad said we couldn't use the weak stuff whatever that meant.
After a couple more rounds of trying to get information out of him, getting me nowhere I finally was able to leave him and go shopping. I was having a hard enough day having to track down my sister and try and get her home, the way her face dropped when I tried to get her to leave. She totally thought I had no clue what was going on. I couldn't believe we were related.
