I agreed with him; we tried to look around first, then decided to take the stairs down. I asked where he came from, and he replied, "I woke up on the highest floor." I didn't want to ask him many questions because, just like me, he is also still unable to process everything.
We cleared every floor and took some necessary items like flashlights, batteries, and some canned goods. This building looked like it was an office for a company. As we were on the first floor, I heard people talking. I asked Nathan to stay quiet as we took a peek from the door along the stairs. These voices are familiar. I took out a wooden bat in my bag that was inside one of the cabinets upstairs and slowly came out of our hiding spot.
I was right, it was a familiar voice! Standing in front of the lobby were the Trevor twins. These two were my classmates; they are foreigners. They just transferred here 2 years ago. I asked them what happened to them and where they woke up. They explained to me how they woke up on the 3rd floor just a while ago. They also collected necessary things and came down to check the first floor.
We sat down first as we planned out what we were going to do. We plan to roam around 25% of the city and set up a camp in one of the buildings. As we went out, we saw the sun already setting down; it was about to be night! Nathan said he saw a hotel near by, so we went to find it out before dark came.
We were able to find the hotel; it was a building with 7 floors; right beside it is a 7/11; we took some instant ramen and some other foods for our dinner, oh, and did I forget to tell you? There was electricity throughout the city, so we felt like we were just in some kind of survival show.
I already finished dinner and was on my way to bed while the three of them were still eating when suddenly an announcement came out of the speakers that can be found everywhere: "Electricity will be cut off at 10 p.m. Everyone should find a place to spend the night once again. This is a message from the government. GOOD LUCK ON SURVIVING YOUR FIRST DAY. "As I heard this announcement, it made me unable to sleep thinking about my family and about the 4 of us surviving in this unknown place.
