Chapter 1 - Fragment Of Time

My hands trembled as I held the gun towards my head.

'This is it, I thought.'

I'd finally be able to feel free. I'll finally be ridden of my burdens.

Bang...

The sound echoed throughout the walls of my room.

As my now lifeless body fell to the floor, my eyes saw something. What they saw wasn't darkness, but memories. It was my life flashing before my eyes.

The vivid colors I saw, it all seemed foreign, yet beautiful to me. It made me feel a sense of joy, something I hadn't felt in many years.

But as soon as it started, it ended quickly with my eyes abruptly opening.

'What?! I thought I died.'

The sense of dread came back to my stomach as my eyes opened in a new, unfamiliar environment.

'Is this the hospital?'

Well it certainly didn't seem like one. The walls weren't white like a hospital, they were grey like a basement, and it was dark, really dark. Well I couldn't see that much anyway since my vision was still blurry.

As my vision focused, I finally saw the space, but now it seemed to get farther and farther away. The whole space turned white, and there I was right smack dab in the middle of it.

"You've now become one with time, a mysterious voice said."

I looked around frantically, "Time?" I said.

A figure materalized Infront of me, "Yes, Letràn, time."

"Wait, how do you know my name?" Letràn said nervously.

The figure chuckled and stated, "I know everything. Now tell me, what is it that you desire?"

'Desire? All I ever thought about was death, Letràn thought.'

"So you desire death?"

"W-wait, you can read my mind," Letràn asked frantically.

The figure chuckled once more, "Of course I can, I can do anything after all. And if it's death you desire, look over there." The figure points to the left of him.

Letràn looks to the direction the figure is pointing, in the white abyss, a lone, shattered mirror stands.

The figure continues, "A soul is always united, this stays true until the souls main body suddenly dies, making it shatter. Just like that mirror over there. It's sharp and painful, it's even unpleasant to look at. Just like death. I mean, who wants to have a broken mirror? Nobody does, just like with a dead soul, it's useless. However, those fragments shall become your power, the power to control those shards shall become your soul." The figure looks over to the shocked and confused Letràn, "From now on, you shall be known as 'Glass' and your true name can continue to be Letràn."

"W-wait, this is all so much information-"

The figure sighs, "In simpler terms. You can control glass, is that easier to understand?"

"Yes, but why glass," Letràn asks, still confused.

"Did you not hear my earlier explanation?"

"Oh, no I did but uh-"

"Okay, listen closely this time. Glass is sharp and painful, like death."

"Oh, okay I think I understand it now, thanks, uhm?"

"It's Phasrinn, call me Phasrinn."

"Thank you, Phasrinn."

An awkward silence falls between the two individuals before Phasrinn smiles.

"Your welcome and fairwell Letràn."

Suddenly the floor under Letràn dissipates from beneath him. As he fell he looked up noticing the smirk on Phasrinn's face.

It seems his journey that he once thought had ended, was just a fragment of the beginning.
