Jerking her chin toward Lorelai, she gave him a slight nudge forward, walking beside him as he approached his wife.
Rhaegar knelt before Lorelai, his amber eyes blurred with the weight of tears. She lay motionless, fragile and pale, her strength seemingly spent. In this moment, she looked so small, so vulnerable, and yet he couldn't forget the immense courage and power she had displayed.
How had someone so delicate endured so much?
"So," he whispered hoarsely, his voice breaking as he stared down at her, "how in the world did you do this?"
Rhaegar glanced at Naveen, whose piercing blue eyes remained fixed on Lorelai's serene face. The witch let out a long sigh, as though bracing herself for the explanation ahead.
"I can hardly believe I agreed to this," she began, a nervous chuckle escaping her lips. "Turns out your wife is quite the daredevil."
