Chapter 7 - EPISODE 7

As the battle raged on, Akira and Mikage began to tire. Their mana was dwindling, their movements slowing. Kaito, on the other hand, seemed unfazed, his powers still raging like a tempest.

Finally, with a last-ditch effort, Akira and Mikage launched a combined attack. But Kaito was ready, countering with ease. The two fighters stumbled back, exhausted.

Kaito's expression turned disappointed. "The fight has come to a close," he said, his voice tinged with a hint of sadness. "You two are out of mana."

Akira and Mikage nodded, panting heavily. They knew they had reached their limits.

"Go back home," Kaito instructed. "Tomorrow, the both of you will be carried to the Shadowbrook area. People have claimed to see a snake-like monster moving in the shadows, and several have gone missing."

Akira's eyes widened in alarm. "What kind of monster?"

Kaito's smile was grim. "One that's a hundred times stronger than the tentacle monster. Be prepared."

With that, Kaito vanished, leaving Akira and Mikage to make their way down the mountain alone. The two fighters exchanged a nervous glance. What lay ahead? Here's the continuation:

The next day, a sleek black car arrived at Akira's doorstep. Mikage was already waiting inside, his eyes fixed on the floor. Kaito sat in the passenger seat, his gaze piercing as he turned to face Akira.

"Today's the day," Kaito said, his voice firm. "You two will be dropped off at the Shadowbrook area. Remember, your mission is to investigate the strange occurrences and put an end to whatever evil is lurking there."

Akira nodded, his heart racing with anticipation.

"But let me make one thing clear," Kaito continued, his eyes glinting with a hint of steel. "If you fail this mission, Akira... I will bring back your execution order. Do you understand?"

Akira's eyes widened in shock, but he nodded again, trying to hide his fear.

Kaito's expression softened slightly. "Don't worry, I'll be watching from outside. If it looks like you're in serious trouble, I'll come and save you."

But then his gaze turned cold again. "But Akira, if I do have to intervene... your execution will be carried out. No exceptions."

Mikage looked up, his eyes flashing with concern, but Akira just steeled himself, determination burning within him. He was ready to face whatever lay ahead.

The snake's body began to contort and twist, its scales rippling like water. Akira and Mikage stumbled back, their eyes fixed in horror as the snake's true form emerged.

Its body elongated, stretching like rubber, as its scales transformed into dark, glistening flesh. Eyes glowing like embers appeared on its body, fixing the two fighters with a malevolent stare.

Akira's hands instinctively went to his hips, drawing the twin blades sheathed there. The blades shimmered in the dim light, their steel etched with ancient runes that seemed to pulse with a power of their own.

"Time to get serious," Akira growled, his voice low and deadly.

Mikage nodded, his eyes locked on the snake's twisted form. "Let's finish this!"

With a fierce battle cry, Akira charged forward, his blades flashing in the dim light. The snake's body writhed and twisted, its eyes blazing with fury as it struck out with tendrils of dark flesh.

Mikage followed close behind, his fists flying in a blur of motion. The snake's tendrils lashed out, seeking to snare him, but Mikage dodged and weaved, his movements a perfect complement to Akira's slashing blades.

Together, the two fighters carved a path of destruction through the snake's twisted form, their bond and trust in each other forging a deadly synergy that the snake couldn't withstand.

Akira's blades flashed in the dim light, striking true time and again. The snake's body began to falter, its twisted form beginning to unravel. But just as Akira went for the killing blow, his blade shattered against the snake's scales, leaving him stumbling back in shock.

Mikage's eyes widened in horror as the snake's body began to shift and flow like a living thing, its tendrils wrapping around Akira like a vice. Akira tried to struggle, but the snake's grip was too strong, its darkness seeping into his veins like poison.

"Akira!" Mikage shouted, launching himself at the snake with a fierce cry. But the snake was too powerful, its tendrils batting Mikage aside like a fly.

As Mikage struggled to get back to his feet, the snake's body began to overwhelm Akira, its darkness closing in like a shroud. Akira's eyes went wide, his vision fading to black as the snake's grip tightened.

Mikage knew they were running out of time. He had to think fast, or risk losing Akira forever. But what could he do against a monster like this?
