Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Secret Training for the Oozaru Transformation

The full moon was set to rise in a few days, and Goku was already preparing for his secret plan—taking control of his Oozaru transformation. He knew that in this world, his ability to become the giant ape wasn't just a random power-up but a dangerous force. If he couldn't control it, he might accidentally destroy everything around him, including Grandpa Gohan's house.

"Well," Goku muttered to himself, pacing in a circle, "I don't want to blow up Grandpa's house... or the trees... or the fish…" He glanced at the lake where a fish leaped out of the water. "They'd never forgive me."

He had decided that the best way to manage this power was to find a secluded area, far away from anyone or anything he might harm. But first, he needed a plan.

The next morning, Goku was back to his training routine. But unlike before, he had a new goal. He wasn't just working on his ki control or his weighted clothes technique anymore; he had to figure out how to control his giant ape form. Goku knew that this would be a different kind of challenge.

While punching a tree in the distance, Goku suddenly stopped. "Wait... how do you train for something like this? It's not like I can just transform whenever I want!" He scratched his head in confusion. "Maybe I should ask Grandpa for advice... but then he'd know I'm planning something!"

Goku decided it was best to keep this secret from Grandpa Gohan. He figured the less the old man knew, the better. After all, this was going to be secret training.

Later that day, Goku wandered over to the clearing where Grandpa Gohan was meditating. Gohan opened one eye and smiled, sensing Goku's approach. "What's on your mind, Goku? You seem like you've been thinking hard all day."

"Oh, nothing, Grandpa! Just regular stuff! You know… like how to become the strongest guy in the world! Totally normal thoughts!" Goku grinned widely, trying to act casual.

Grandpa Gohan raised an eyebrow but chuckled. "You've got quite the ambition, Goku. But remember, power isn't everything. Control, wisdom, and heart are just as important."

"Yeah, yeah! Control! Exactly!" Goku nodded eagerly. "Say, Grandpa… uh, what would you do if someone had a lot of power, like… a LOT of power, and they wanted to control it? You know, for no particular reason."

Gohan smiled again, fully aware that Goku was fishing for advice. "Well, if I were that person, I'd start by making sure I trained far away from people, just in case things got out of hand."

Goku's eyes lit up. "Exactly! That's what I was thinking too! You're so smart, Grandpa!" He quickly ran off, leaving Gohan chuckling behind him.

By nightfall, Goku had found a perfect spot for his training. It was a rocky area, far from Grandpa Gohan's house and with nothing important nearby to destroy. The moon wasn't full yet, but Goku was determined to be prepared. He couldn't let himself lose control when he transformed.

"Okay, this is the place," Goku said to himself, looking around. He started practicing various forms and stances, imagining what it would be like to move as the Oozaru. "When I transform, I'll be huge, so I've gotta stay balanced. Maybe I can pretend to be big now!"

Goku puffed out his chest, standing tall, and stomped his feet like he was already in Oozaru form. He roared loudly, trying to mimic the giant ape's powerful cries.

"RAAWWWR! I'M THE GREAT APE GOKU!" he shouted. But as he stomped, he tripped over a rock and landed flat on his face.

"Oof!" He groaned, spitting out dirt. "Okay, maybe I shouldn't practice the stomping part just yet…"

Days passed, and Goku's excitement for the full moon grew. He was confident that with his secluded training area, nothing would go wrong. But as the night approached, he couldn't help but feel a little nervous.

"I wonder what it's going to be like," Goku said to himself as he prepared to leave for his secret training spot. "I've never tried controlling the Oozaru before. What if I go crazy? What if I step on a bunny or something?!"

Shaking his head, Goku grabbed a small snack, hoping food would calm him down. As he chewed, he remembered something important. "Wait… if I'm a giant ape, how am I supposed to eat snacks?!" He gasped. "This is terrible! I didn't think this through!"

But there was no time to worry about snacks now. The moon was rising.

Goku reached his training spot just as the full moon began to shine overhead. He took a deep breath and stared at it. The familiar tingling sensation began to creep down his spine, and he knew the transformation was starting. His body trembled as his muscles expanded and his bones shifted. His tail flicked behind him, and soon, Goku was towering over the landscape as the Oozaru.

"RAAAWWWR!!" Goku roared, shaking the ground beneath him. His eyes glowed red, but unlike before, he still had a sense of control. He wasn't rampaging like a wild beast.

"Alright, alright, focus, Goku!" He tried to remember everything Grandpa Gohan had taught him about controlling energy. But it was hard to focus with so much power surging through him. Goku's massive hands clenched into fists, and he stomped around the area, trying to test his movements without destroying everything.

"Okay, this isn't so bad! I can do this!" Goku said, though his voice now sounded more like a deep growl. He raised one arm to punch the air, feeling the raw strength of the Oozaru form.

But then, just as he was getting confident, Goku looked down and realized something horrifying. "Wait… where are my pants?!"

It was then that Goku realized the one thing he had forgotten about the Oozaru transformation: clothes didn't grow with you.

"Oh no! This is embarrassing!" Goku tried to cover himself with his giant hands, but it was no use. "I can't let Grandpa see me like this!"

Desperate to avoid humiliation, Goku scrambled to find something—anything—to cover himself. He eventually picked up a giant leaf and awkwardly held it in front of himself. "This'll have to do for now…"

As the night went on, Goku continued his training, learning how to move without causing too much destruction. By the time the moon began to set, he was exhausted but proud of himself. He had managed to stay in control for most of the night and had even practiced a few attacks in his Oozaru form.

When the transformation finally ended, Goku was left lying on the ground, back to his normal size and completely worn out. He grinned, staring up at the sky. "I did it… I really did it…"

He stood up and brushed off the dirt, feeling a sense of accomplishment. "Next time, I'll be even better. And I'll remember to wear better clothes!"

With that, Goku started his walk back home, yawning and thinking about all the snacks he was going to eat when he got there.

"Controlling the Oozaru isn't so bad after all," Goku said, smiling. "But I think I'll avoid full moons for a while… just to be safe."

As he made his way home, Goku couldn't help but laugh at the thought of his giant ape form frantically trying to cover itself with a leaf.
