She handed the artifact over to Haru and all he could see was everything that he hoped for was gone. Broken in his hand.
"Aren't you a goddess? Why can't you just fix this for me?" Haru says with a bit of frustration.
To hand me the artifact I've been looking for just to tell me it's broken is a load of shit, why even bother giving it to me in the first place.
The goddess remained quiet for a few moments before deciding to speak with Haru once more. He continued to look at the orb as he got more and more frustrated.
"Too much interference will get me in trouble. But I'll give you my name. Call me Sunada Amaterasu. I'll be generous and allow you to just call me Amaterasu though." She says with a kindness in her voice.
Switching up the way she speaks after introducing herself is definitely weird but whatever, what do I care at this point. Seeing this artifact like this just means I need to keep on with my original goal.
"Okay Amaterasu. Then why are you still here exactly?" Haru questions without realizing the orb is starting to glow.
A pure black flame begins to emit from the orb before flashing Haru. Not being able to get an answer from the goddess because of the flash taking him back to a memory.
(13 years ago. Around the time Haru had just started making a name for himself.)
At the age of fifteen I was starting my adventure as a hero while my sister stayed at home with my father. Something I didn't ever expect to be the case but someone had to after Mom died.
"Welcome to the group Haru." Sorakami says while standing before him.
Even back then Sorakami had been set on keeping his identity a secret from everyone so that no one could ever bring harm to his family.
A small group was standing together in a village known as Mistiel. This was where the first group of heroes was born.
Haru couldn't understand why he was seeing such a distant memory of things that had happened so long ago. Seeing people that he barely even remembers since they had all disappeared from his sight after the fights with the demons.
"I think we'll all make a name for ourselves, this is a great group. I can just sense it." Shuji says with confidence.
Shuji the lowest ranked of the group was also the most confident but he made up for a lot with his swordsman ship. Everyone had unique skills that made them stand out in some way or another.
"Happy to help." Haru speaks up while looking around.
Noticing a man walking past holding a strange orb with weird engravings he was intrigued. That's when everything started to make sense to Haru, the one seeing his past memories.
The orb isn't something I just learned about but something I saw back when I was younger too, how odd.
"We should get going though. The king is expecting us." Shuji says before starting to lead the way.
The orb was being carried by a man with long black hair, wearing fancy noble attire, who had sky blue eyes, and even appeared to have some elegance to him.
Why did a noble have such a thing with him? I don't get it.
(Immediately the flashback disappeared within seconds and Haru was back in the room.)
"I'm here because I have to help you somehow. I just have to figure out how I'm going to." Amaterasu says while staring at Haru.
Does she know I just saw everything that I did? No because she wouldn't have been responding to my question like she is right now.
My hint about this artifact lies with the man I saw back in the flashback but where the hell would I even find him?
"Help from a goddess? Makes me feel special." Haru says with a sarcastic tone.
I never once got help from God's or goddesses so why would I want their help now of all times. Also what is with women just laying next to me without permission.
Doesn't seem like a problem that most people would have but yet I have it, what is my luck lately?
"You're not going to be strong enough in time to beat the demon lord without some assistance." Amaterasu mentions while turning to look up at the ceiling.
Haru laid there for a few minutes thinking about what she said and wondered if that's really true. Sorakami had been training him and even said that with his help it'd be possible but yet a goddess is saying otherwise.
Taking her help might be a good choice but I also need to figure out how to fix this artifact as well. Sigh, guess I'll just accept it for now and fix this later.
"Fine, fine. Help me out or whatever." Haru says with a bit of an annoyed tone.
"Okay then we can discuss more tomorrow." Amaterasu replies before disappearing.
What a cool trick to have, being able to disappear within a moments notice.
Haru then closed his eyes and went to sleep but was immediately met with memories from his past.
Seeing a woman with short curly black hair, blue eyes, wearing assassin like armor with a black hood attached to her gear was standing before him.
"As beautiful as ever." Young Haru says while standing in front of her.
"You know it's bad to get attached." The girl replies with a smile on her face.
"You're worth getting attached to Aliza. I won't let nothing happen to you." Young Haru says with confidence.
Standing on the balcony which came off the room they were staying in at the inn, they could see the beautiful stars up in the sky.
"Are you really heading for the left hand? How will you keep anything from happening if you're gone stupid." Aliza speaks with a playful tone.
"Simple. I'll kill them all. Haha." Haru responds with a laugh afterwards.
