"I promise I remembered him being here. Just need to take a look for ourselves and we'll probably find him." Mai says while trying to be confident.
"Again I'll trust you. We'll find the temple at some point." Haru responds while scratching his head.
Mai began to lead the way through the desert while trying to recall the exact way she went towards the temple before. Haru was following behind her while keeping an eye out for anything around them.
Dethen did have quite a bit of a reputation for it's surprise attacks which is exactly why everyone avoided it to begin with. It wasn't just a good observation but the truth of the area.
"We're getting closer." Mai says while looking to her left with a confused expression on her face.
I really hope she's not just getting us lost here or else I'd say that this really was just a waste of time.
Hours of wandering had gone by with no sight of the temple in sight anywhere. Just the barren desert with its destroyed structures of what used to be houses.
"Maybe it's best we try another direction?" Haru suggests while scratching his head.
"I promise we're almost there. I can feel it." Mai reassures him while continuing to walk.
We've been wandering for some time now but haven't seen anything so I'm not sure what to make of her sense of direction. I'm trying to trust it but at the same time we haven't gotten anywhere.
Sigh. I'll let it go for a bit longer before I decide to head my own direction instead.
A few more hours had gone by and the sun was beginning to set, starting to see the shape of a temple in the distance a smile had started forming on Mai's face.
"See! I told you it wasn't that much further from us." Mai says with excitement in her voice.
Thump thump. Haru could suddenly feel his heart beating, almost out of his chest. Something was being installed within him. Quickly looking around the area he didn't notice anything at first, then he saw her.
A woman with long purple hair, two horns on her head, dark red eyes, a cape going down her back, royal looking armor. Who would possibly be here now?
This presence was stronger than even I could handle usually, what kind of power does she have?!
"T-That's.. the demon lord." Mai struggles to say while fear can be seen on her face.
I'm not scared but her power is creating such a powerful presence that it's hard to breathe, let alone move.
"Head for the temple Mai. Don't stop." Haru forces himself to speak while trying to draw his sword.
Swoosh. Tap. Tap. Within an instant the girl had appeared behind Haru and was tapping his shoulder.
"You're the one who killed my dad's left hand. I should be thanking you but if I show such compassion they'll think I'm weak." The girl says with a softness in her voice.
"So you aren't the demon lord or did you take over?" Haru manages to ask while trying to turn around.
She slightly moves his head forward with her hand before going around to stand in front of him.
"I'm the new demon lord. Father decided to disappear, haven't been able to find him since but it's about time we did something right." She says while hunched forward a bit in front of Haru.
What is my luck with finding demons lately, especially ones that happen to be a female. I'm not sure if one could consider that good luck or bad.
"You know me and you know why I had to do that. Surely you aren't as evil as your father." Haru replies with a calmness in his voice.
A smile began to form on her face as she stood back up and stared down Haru.
"The left hand was my brother. As much as he deserved it, he played quite a role in my life Haru." The Demon lord says while a weapon begins to form in her hand.
This isn't going to be good.
(Within the Cathedral in Shadow Moore.) Lena's View.
The king gave us permission to use a gate to travel outside the continent since we were going to need some more help then what we had. Our first stop meant heading to the continent of Liviel. Where the kingdom of Everfiel resides.
That's where one of the greatest heroes came from and it's possible to have that happen once again.
It's rumoured that they have been experimenting with a whole new process there. Summoning heroes through some alternate method that no one has heard much about yet.
"The gate is ready heroes." A priest says while standing at the side of the gate.
"Thank you. We will do our best to bring more help to the continent." Koichi responds with a smile on his face.
The gate was massive with all sorts of carvings throughout the design, each one with a different symbol of the ancient gods. All with the giant white light shining throughout the room while the heroes began to make their way.
"Here we go. Time to find out what the other continents like." Koichi says with a bit of excitement in his voice.
"Yeah. Remember we're going to find other heroes Koichi." Lena mentions with a bit more of a serious tone.
Koichi gets a bit too excited about things sometimes but at least it takes the edge off of the real situation. We're about to go to war once again with the demon lord.
I'm not sure everyone is excited about that but I know it'll make money for quite a bit of people for a long while. I do wonder where the other heroes are right now, are they already fighting?
I wish they'd actually stick around and communicate with us like we're supposed to be doing with one another.
The group went into the gate and everything began to change all around them.
