There's a pull in my soul, an insistent whisper urging me eastward. I signal the pack with a low growl, and we move as one through this strange human city.
Nira falls into step beside me. "The swarms have thinned," she observes, her voice low. "They're staking claims."
I nod, feeling the truth of her words. The initial chaos has settled; several rifts have disappeared, leaving only a few in the skies. "Agreed. We must be cautious. Everything is looking for territory."
A flicker of movement catches my eye. Humans, scurrying like vermin between the hulking structures of metal and stone. Their fear-scent is pungent, almost overwhelming.
"Look," Zane, one of our younger pack members, growls. "They cower in those strange contraptions."
