One by one the veils hiding the clones were lifted. The brief flash of light created by the lightning illuminated the dark courtyard, coloring the bricks a bright red. Each clone presented a formidable challenge. I wondered how many I would have to kill until I finally reached the true beast.
The soldier next to me finally overcame the auras and began brandishing his own sword. The light of their lightning reflecting off of our swords was blinding. Even though it was past dusk, the courtyard was brighter than it would be even during the day.
The first wave of clones made their moves. Creating swords, axes, and other such weapons from their lightning, they initiated contact.
Their weapons slashed through the air with a fierce ferocity. The number was so great that I couldn't rely on just my blades. In addition to blocking with my blades, I had to maneuver my other hand to knock aside their arms, thus redirecting their strikes.
