Chapter 10: Falling Harder

Drake's frown deepened. "Creatures of the Night?"

Azuraelle's eyes widened as she answered for her mother. "Werewolves, Vampires... Dark elves. But Drake doesn't look like any of them!"

Tiamat nodded. "Hybrids are usually weak, unstable. But you, Drake… You're different." She narrowed her eyes more; "More different... This is the first time I see someone like you..."

Closing her eyes, Tiamat summoned a large blue scroll, conjured out of thin air. It floated between her hands, and she beckoned them both to the table. As she opened it, deep black letters appeared on the surface as if by magic.

"The dragon hierarchy is as follows..." She began, and as she spoke, the words began to reshape Drake's understanding of the world of dragons...

....

As Tiamat unfurled the ancient scroll, the black letters, shimmering as if born from shadow, before turning to a burned gold color, twisted and reformed before Drake's eyes.

"What language is that? I've never seen something like it." Drake commented.

And Tiamat answered him in a casual yet motherly tone: "Sumeric or Sumerian. What you are seeing are called Sumer Runes."

Her voice took on an authoritative tone. "The hierarchy of dragons," She began, tracing her elegant, pale porcelain finger across the surface of the scroll; "starts at the lowest tier with Wyverns, the Low-Class Dragons."

The text shifted, showing images of the winged, limbless creatures, creatures Drake was vaguely familiar with from old stories and the movies he watched.

"Next, we ascend to the Earthling Dragons, the Middle-Class. These dragons, though formidable, are bound by their connection to the planet Earth and are the most common in Drakhara, the Realm of Dragons."

The scroll now displayed vivid illustrations of dragons embedded in mountains and forests, as their eyes, which had slit-like pupils like a reptilian, glowed in the dimly lit places.

"Higher still are the Elder Dragons, or those of Drakhara. They are considered the High-Class Dragons, and they alone command dominion over entire territories. Many of these dragons come from noble lineages, bloodlines coming from my sisters." Tiamat's voice wavered with pride as she spoke about her sisters.

Soon images of regal dragons appeared, each adorned with crowns, which were their large horns, and colorful scales of unimaginable power.

Drake studied the scroll, the weight of his newly acquired status pressing down on him. He understood now that this transformation wasn't just a matter of power — it was of lineage, of inheritance.

Tiamat's eyes gleamed as she continued: "Then come the Low Dragon Gods, dragons blessed with divine power, yet still bound by limitations. Beyond them are the true Dragon Gods — such as Fafnir, who is known for his greed and strength, as well as the mastery of the power of Hellfire."

Azuraelle scoffed at the mention of Fafnir, clearly unimpressed by the figure in the lore.

"And above them," Tiamat said, her eyes flicking toward Drake with meaning, "are the Greater Dragon Gods. They are rare, only emerging from the direct lineage of Primordials. In this age, in the first time ever in the draconic history, there are only two: Azuraelle, my daughter, and you, Drake."

Drake felt the weight of her words sink into his bones. He was just a little surprised of the new information, because he already knew what a Greater Dragon God means thanks to Azuraelle.

But, the mention of "direct lineage" was something that caught his attention, and he narrowed his eyes; "What did you mean by direct descendants? Does that mean the others are distant relatives?"

Tiamat giggled, a soft, almost girlish sound, that belied the raw power she held. Her hand came to rest on his shoulder, and her touch was both warm and reassuring.

"No, Drake. The others were created by my sisters using their divine powers. They never engaged in… copulation, as mortals do. Their "children" were born by their powers alone."

She then casually added: "The same can go for the creatures I created, like my little experiment Mushussu. They mean nothing to me anyway."

"—Why?" Drake asked, confused.

"Oh?" Tiamat's sharp and gorgeous eyebrows raised. "Curious, huh? I see. Well, they betrayed me." She shrugged, but Drake could sense her slight anger, and annoyance.

'Her creatures betrayed her... Huh...' Drake made sure to write down a mental note about avenging Tiamat later; even if they just met, they're "married" and she is considered family now.

He WOULD NEVER allow someone to hurt his family, not AGAIN.

Both Azuraelle and Tiamat noticed this, and they just watched him with their eyes glowing with love, possessiveness and obsessiveness, with their cheeks tinging a deep hue of red.

However, Azuraelle soon bristled beside him, watching as her mother leaned into Drake; she was clearly "teasing" her daughter, and Azuraelle was already at her wits' end as she almost jumped her mother.

Tiamat, ignoring her daughter's growing irritation, continued with a loving smile: "I created Azuraelle differently. She was born of my own scales, my blood, and a fraction of my soul. She is, in every sense, my daughter."

Her gaze lingered on Drake, her lips curling into a knowing smile. "And you, Drake…"

She wrapped her arms around his neck again and sat on his lap, much to Azuraelle's rage and frustration as she began to freak out internally.

"You were reborn through the ritual my daughter performed, with the aid of two of my sisters and myself. You are our direct descendant — my son, and Azuraelle's brother."

Tiamat leaned in to steal a kiss from his lips, and Azuraelle quickly grabbed her mother by her arm and shoved her away!

That's what Azuraelle wanted to happen but...her mother is stronger than her! SHE DIDN'T BUDGE! "GRAAAH! MOTHER!!!!"

Drake's heart pounded at Tiamat's words, his thoughts were a whirlwind as he was too focused on what he just heard.

To be a direct descendant of Tiamat and two of her sisters meant something far beyond power. He now realized wasn't just a powerful dragon god; he was a part of their very essence.

Though, he didn't know what their powers were, nor does he know his own yet...

Azuraelle, her expression tight with frustration, let go of her mother and, grabbed Drake instead and swiftly pulled him away from her mother's grasp.

"Don't get too comfortable, Drake." She muttered under her breath. "This family is…complicated."

Drake smiled wryly, though he didn't mind how his mother —who was now giggling in a very seductive manner, with her gaze locked on his form as if she wanted to devour him —took him by surprise and kissed him so passionately earlier.

His mind still reeled from the revelations. Complicated didn't even begin to describe it.

...

Drake couldn't help but feel a strange, warming sensation inside him as Tiamat pulled back, her soft laughter filling the room.

The tension from the earlier revelations was fading, replaced by a more comfortable, even playful atmosphere.

He stole a glance at Azuraelle, who had crossed her arms, scowling at her mother with that mix of irritation and fondness.

"You know," Drake said, breaking the silence: "this is… a lot to take in."

He couldn't hold back the soft chuckle that escaped his lips. "But I have to admit, this is the strangest 'family' dynamic I've ever been a part of."

Azuraelle's sharp gaze softened just a bit at his words. "Oh Darling. You don't know. Strange doesn't even cover it. Try living with them for twenty seven years."

She jabbed a thumb toward her mother, who was now sitting with an amused grin on her face.

Tiamat sighed, theatrically placing a hand over her heart. "Oh, Azuraelle, you wound me. I'm the perfect mother!"

Drake smirked at that. "Perfect? You just pounced on me like I was a prize. That's not exactly maternal."

Azuraelle grumbled under her breath, clearly agreeing, before she exclaimed: "Exactly Darling! You've got no idea…"

Through the bond, Drake could feel the simmering love beneath Azuraelle's irritation.

Her protectiveness over him was genuine, but layered with another layer of overwhelming emotions — the same sort of possessiveness her mother had shown earlier.

He understood she loved her mother dearly but didn't like sharing.

At the same time, Tiamat's emotions were wild and complex.

Despite her playful exterior, there was an undercurrent of longing, deep affection.

And with a powerful, overwhelming love, just like her daughter's, was aimed directly at Drake.

It was odd, feeling both their thoughts and emotions intertwined with his own.

This Soul Marriage bond was more than just a connection — it was like they were all part of the same heartbeat, sharing in each other's joys, frustrations, and even desires.

"You know what…" Drake started again, his voice light: "I love you two."

He glanced between them, the corners of his mouth lifting into a smile. "As my new family, and... Wives. I don't feel like questioning this at all."

Azuraelle's eyes widened in pure satisfaction and delight the moment Drake's words registered in her mind.

She made sure to save what he said in her brain. She had engraved it on the edge of her brain!

Her expression shifted from surprise to something far deeper — her star-shaped crimson eyes glowed, bright with joy, and darkening with desire and love.

She barely hid her trembling excitement, as both her hands rested gently on her cheeks, as her eyes locked on Drake.

"You'd better mean that..." She murmured, her voice softer than ever, but there was no hiding the warmth in her tone.

Meanwhile, Tiamat looked utterly captivated

Her gaze, wide and intense, bore into Drake as if his words had wrapped around her soul.

Her fingers delicately traced the line of her jaw, her star-shaped eyes darkening, filled with a mixture of love, lust, and pure satisfaction.

"Oh, my Darling~" She breathed with a sultry voice. "You don't know how long we've waited to hear that. We're connected in more ways than one, and now…"

Her words trailed off as her lips curved into a wicked, yet deeply contented, smile. "We'll never let you go."

Both women gazed at him with the same intensity, the same craziness, the same possessiveness and obsessed love.

Their shared emotions engulfed him, as there was no doubt left in his mind — they were his, and he was theirs.

Drake knew that she wasn't wrong.

The more time he spent with the, be it seconds or minutes, the more their presence felt… comforting. Familiar.

And through the soul thing that binded them, he could sense how much they truly cared for him — both of them, in their own ways.

"Connected..." Drake echoed thoughtfully. "Yeah, that's one word for it."

He leaned back slightly, rubbing the back of his neck as he tried to process the flood of emotions and thoughts that weren't entirely his own.

"I feel everything you both do. It's kind of overwhelming."

Azuraelle's face softened, and she gave him a loving look. "You'll get used to it."

Her voice lowered, switching to be tender; "It took me a long time to adjust when I first felt my relation with my mother.

But now… I can't imagine anything else, not with you finally by my side, my love, my Darling."

Her admission caught him off guard.

Drake could feel the sincerity in her words, the deep attachment she had to him.

It made his chest tighten in a way he hadn't expected.

He was beginning to feel the same— despite the chaos, despite the absurdity of it all, being with them was starting to feel… right.

—No! It already felt right! Their feelings are true for him, even if there's something twisted in them!

Tiamat, sensing the shift in the mood, smiled warmly.

"You are adjusting quickly. Most mortals, or even dragons would struggle to keep their sense of self in a relationship and a bond like this. But not you, Drake. You're different."

Drake let out a soft chuckle, shaking his head.

"I guess I'm full of surprises." He smiled awkwardly as he rubbed the back of his head.

Azuraelle gently nudged his arm and leaned in to press a kiss to his cheek. "You are, Darling."

Drake paused, then added with a smirk as he looked at Azuraelle: "Besides, I have the two of you to keep me grounded."

Azuraelle snorted at that. "Grounded, huh? How about you leave my mother aside and see how I will keep you 'bedded'."

She glanced at him and flashed a seductive smile that made his little brother almost stir in his mini shorts.

—Wait... Shorts...?

As realization dawned upon him, Drake quickly looked down at himself, and his eyes widened as he noticed he was practically naked with just a black mini shorts covering his waist and crotch and thigh.

Both Azuraelle and Tiamat laughed with mirth at that.

"You just noticed?" Tiamat asked as her body trembled while laughing.

"I also didn't see it! Hehehehe." Azuraelle added with a sweet giggle.

"I was too engrossed in...teaching him that I didn't see it coming."

Yeah... Too engrossed... She meant engrossed in kissing him actually.

The light-hearted banter continued, the three of them trading playful jabs and soft smiles.

Drake found himself relaxing more with every moment, the bond making him feel more connected to these two women than he had ever felt with anyone before.

It was strange — he hadn't known them for long, but the bond made it feel as though they had been part of his life forever.

It truly was intoxicating! Especially when they're his type!

And unbeknownst to him, they're making him love them more!

He felt their affection, their protective instincts, their possessiveness, all swirling through him like a shared heartbeat.

And though it was overwhelming at times, it was also comforting.

It felt… right.

Tiamat leaned forward, and her eyes locked onto his with a soft, tender intensity.

"Drake, you've only scratched the surface of what it means to be part of our family. You'll find that we take care of our own… fiercely."

Azuraelle, who was beside him, nodded as she looked at him straight in the eye with a possessive look. "We won't let anything happen to you Darling. Not while we're around."

Drake's smile widened at that. He was feeling a warmth spread through him.

For the first time in a long while, he felt like he truly belonged somewhere.

And despite the complexity of their relationship, despite the whirlwind of emotions, he couldn't deny that he was already growing attached to them.

More than attached. This was becoming his new reality.

And somehow, that felt… okay. More than okay, even.

It felt right.

Yes... He was...

Falling harder.
