As the sun began to rise, a young Naruto Uzumaki was seen in his bed. The shining sun reflecting off his tan skin. His whiskers seem to shimmer in the sunlight.
He quickly opened his eyes and started to yawn. His bed croaked as he began to sit on it. As much as he wanted to sleep in, he knew that today was supposed to be one of the happiest days of the year.
It was going to be his sixth birthday, and of course like any other child of his age he wanted to have a good time and enjoy the day.
Excitedly, he jumped off his bed, and quickly went to the bathroom. Hygiene wasn't his biggest concern but he wasn't a filthy rat. The sequence of getting up washing his face and brushing his teeths were ingrained into his brain. Like a robot executing a command.
After brushing, Naruto quickly went to take off his pajamas and put on some clothes. His closet was full of orange but today he strangely craved a different color.
He chose a white t-shirt with a whirlpool like swirl in the middle. The swirl made Naruto feel a bit warm, though he did not know the hidden meaning of the swirl, there was something about it that just made it warm and comfy.
Apart from the t-shirt that he had chosen he had also decided to go with midnight black pants. The contrast of colors would usually make a strange sight but they seem to fit perfectly together.
Naruto decided to pay no more attention to his clothes and unlocked his door and went outside.
The fresh breeze was welcomed by Naruto, he had very much needed it. He tilted his head to let the wind be more accessible to his neck. The freshness of the air was most appreciated. The sun was now at full display, his tan skin seemed to be gleaming.
However, he was in for a rude awakening when he looked back at his house. It was now scribbled with graffiti. The surprising thing was that, that wasn't the worst of it.
The words scribbled on his apartment were words which were never meant to be seen. The least offensive of which were "demon" "murderer". Not to mention the stairs leading down to his were completely broken off.
His balcony was completely littered with countless amounts of spray paint. He took a closer look at them and realized that this specific brand of spray paint was known for being very hard to rub off.
Naruto wanted to burst out crying. It was his birthday, he was supposed to go to the hokage and get lots of money. Get free ramen from ichiraku ramen. Ayame and Teuchi were supposed to make him a custom made ramen flavor just for him.
He was just a six year old kid and random people had just decided to vandalize his apartment. How was he supposed to explain this to the hokage? Would he still get his birthday money?
Naruto wanted to break-down, his whole world was destroyed. There was no way the hokage would believe him that random people just came in and destroyed his apartment.
Well, it was better to tell the truth than bottle it all up and then get busted, consequently meaning that the punishment would be far more worse. Naruto resolved his tiny self and went to visit the hokage.
As he walked through the village, multiple full grown adults stared at him in disgust. Naruto quickly checked his face and smelt himself. There was nothing unusual today. He couldn't understand what was wrong with him today.
To be honest, Naruto didn't really care what others thought about him but if there was room for him to improve himself he would. It was not like he was a dickhead who would not care about others and only himself.
But the glares were getting a bit unnerving. Why were they so upset with him? He didn't even know who half the adults were. Did they find out that he didn't brush his teeth last night?!
Naruto was still deep in thought as to why everyone was staring at him, even shinobi and children. As he ventured closer to the tower, he began to hear murmurs of what they were saying.
And strangely enough it was similar to what was painted on his wall. "Demon", "cursed child" etc…
Putting two and two together Naruto quickly inferred that the villagers were the reason why his apartment looked like a piece of hell. But the real question was, why did they do that. He hadn't done anything to them.
All the more questions to ask the all-knowing hokage. The three questions on his mind were.
Where is my birthday money?
Why is my apartment painted all over with bad words?
When are we going to Ichiraku Ramen?
He owned him that much and who his parents were. Naruto was sure that the hokage knew and was just refusing to tell him.The hokage didn't visit every orphan once a month, so his parents must have been of significance or importance.
Hiruzen had a lot of explaining to do and he wasn't going to come out of the office if he didn't have all three of his questions answered. The old man would have to make sure his life was good.
*HOKAGE OFFICE*
"Would you mind explaining why your civilians have wrecked my property," Naruto said calmly, He was holding in his anger, but knew better than to lash out at the strongest person in the hidden village.
"Naruto?" Hiruzen replied shocked, wondering why he was speaking like that.
To anyone who knew Naruto this vocabulary was seemingly impossible for the blonde knuckle-head to hammer out. "You still haven't answered my question?!" Naruto almost shouted, whether in rage or in sadness Sautobi couldn't really tell. Usually, Hiruzen didn't take Naruto seriously but something just seemed off, if it were a prank, HIruzen would have been able to catch on to it. Whenever Naruto tried to pull one on him, he would always vibrate his legs and on some occasions play with his fingers.
"Well, I-I don't really know," Hiruzen answered truthfully, there was actually no reason for the village to despise Naruto as of now. Maybe because of his few pranks but they were recently reduced to only a monthly occurrence.
Well, if that wasn't the case then… Danzo!
"Naruto you have to tell me everything, don't spare a single detail!" Hiruzen spoke back in a commanding voice.
