When I got to school the following day, I told Courtney everything that happened yesterday.
"OMG you are lucky that Mike came to your rescue if not i wonder what that monster would have done to you".
"Yeah, i was fortunate".
" I hope Mike didn't get hurt".
" No he didn't, he only had a small bruise that I'm sure will heal soon".
" That's a relief". She let out a sigh.
"Girl you should report Jasper before he does something worse".
"I doubt if he will come near me again".
"Did you tell your mum?"
"No, I don't want her to worry".
"Bella please let's report him, we now have a witness. It's best to be safe than sorry".
"Alright but i would love to avoid the stress not to cause further complications".
"What are the complications? It will only be complicated if you don't act fast".
"Come to think of it Courtney, if Jasper is truly a gang leader he will want to get back at me for reporting him".
"Didn't seem different, he will still want to get back at you for what happened".
"I doubt, I'm sure there are countless ladies on his bully list".
She let out a sigh, obviously displeased. " I hope so".
"Oh girl but he looks so scary". I lament.

During recess, we all went to the cafeteria and i ask after Mike because I didn't see him in school the whole day.
"Where is Mike"?
"He sent a text that he won't be coming to school today". Jason replied.
"Oh"! " But why"? Courtney ask.
" I don't know, when i text back he was already offline, even his phone is off".
" I hope he is fine". Bella (gf) added.

Jason gave Courtney and me a ride home after school. I thanked him and went straight to my room after shutting the door tightly.
I changed to a casual wear and went online on facebook. I sent Mike a message and immediately he replied.

Him: Hi friend
Me: Why are you absent at school?
Him: Did you miss me?
Me: Come on, answer me
Him: I didn't feel like coming.
Me: Oh! Him: If you didn't miss me, i missed you. Me:Lol Or are you feeling pains from yesterday? Him: No, I'm as strong as a lion
Me: You are funny
Him: Message me on WhatsApp, i already saved my number on your phone
Me: I don't have time for that, i only want to check on you to ensure your absence is not caused by yesterday's incidence.
Him: Lol, she is on free mode
Me: What does that mean?
Him: Oh! Don't you know free mode?
Me: Free mode? Should be when something is free at a particular period of time. So how can i browse for free?
Him: Never mind i will explain it to you in person. Me: Forget it
Him: How was school today? I hope Jasper didn't bother you.
Me: Not at all, thanks for the concern
Him: Ok
I went offline, and drop my phone ignoring other messages.

Later at night by 7, Mum came home obviously troubled.
"Mum, is there a problem?"
"Nothing dear". She replied but i know she is trying to hide something.
" Goodness Mum, just tell me what's bothering you. You always tell me a problem shared is half solved".
" Ok, your dad called me earlier when i was driving".
" Dad called?" I asked, surprised.
" Yes, he did".
" And what did he say"?
"I was unable to pick it because i was driving".
" Goodness, Mum, just because Dad called you are bringing up an issue. Maybe he has something to tell you, or probably it's a mistake".
" Mistake? I doubt. But what did he want to tell me"?
" Mum, you love making little things into an issue, just forget about it and go upstairs to freshen up. I will call him to confirm that he's fine". I said, heading upstairs, some mother's can be very dramatic.

Courtney and i get to school the following day, she went to embrace Jason and i felt someone give me a back hug. Nick is the only one who always do that when we are still in the deal so i guess he have a reason for it.
"Nick". I called and turned around disappointed to see it's Mike.
"Mike, why"?
"What made you think it was Nick"?
"Why do that?" I asked back, trying to avoid his question even though deep down I wished it was Nick.
"Did i do something wrong"?
"Forget it".
I know it's fruitless arguing with him, so i went to class without waiting for Courtney who is engrossed in a conversation with Jason.
"Is Mike courting you"? Was the first question she ask when she get to class .
" No" i shouted, "What made you think so"?
"Calm down Bella, i only asked because i saw you two hugging".
" Your sight must be wrong, he hugged me".
" All the same".
" Not the same". I shout.
" Lower your voice".
"He hugged me, and i warned him".
" Ok, but what's wrong with him courting you"?
" Many things are wrong".
" Start to list".
" Many things are wrong, and that's final". I replied, already furious.
"He saved you from Jasper". My subconscious said.
"So"? I said, out loud.
" So what"? Courtney asked.
" Ermm... Not you". I replied, and the teacher entered the class, saving me from further explanations as she hurried to her seat.

During recess, they made an announcement that all new students should join a school club.
"I'm in the graphics team". Courtney said.
"You and Nick" Jason added.
"Acting like you are not also a member" Nick said.
"I'm leaving that boring team".
" Why? We are the ones who make the school graphics". Courtney said.
"So?" He asked.
" So"? She asked back.
" Bella, which club do you plan to join"? Nick asked, and i knew he is referring to me because I'm the only new student there
"I don't know."
"You should join the graphics". Courtney said.
"No, i have no passion for design". I protest.
" Your lost!" She mocked.
" You can join the drama club". Bella said, and I look at her. "I'm the group leader". She added.
" Oh, that's a relief".
" So, does that means yes"? She asked.
"Absolutely!"
" Mike is also a member, and I'm heading there too". Jason said, and I instantly regretted my decision to join the club.
"Oh!" I exclaimed.
"What do you have against Mike"? My subconscious asked, but i have no answer.
"Welcome to drama team honey." Bella said, and I smiled.
"Are you sure you can act"? Jason asked.
" Practice makes perfect, my dear". Bella defended. .
