"Without realizing it, I've already got six Pokémon with me, and two of them have reached level 30. Considering that this has all happened in less than a month, it feels almost unbelievable."

Sato glanced at his team, who were all resting after playing—some asleep on the floor or couch, with Golbat keeping watch on the ceiling and Bellossom curled up with its Miracle Seed on the couch.

A sense of amazement crept over him.

However, Sato quickly shook his head. Reaching this point was largely due to his own caution and effort, and in some cases, he'd achieved it at great personal risk.

Though the time has been short, the experiences he's had aren't something an average trainer would encounter. A quick comparison between regular trainers and the elite fighters made him realize that his amazement wasn't warranted.

"Ah, whatever," he muttered. "The important thing is not to get arrogant. My current strength is probably around the level of a Rocket squad leader or mid-level captain, still far from being able to control my fate. The less time I spend reaching that goal, the better."

Pushing aside unnecessary reflections, Sato returned to practical thoughts, focusing on how best to use his current resources to further boost his Pokémon's power.

With the initial bond established with Mudkip, Sato's first thought was about the items he had earned with ten gold coins at the Game Hall.

Since the Water-type starter Pokémon were all already claimed, Sato had to use his hard-earned ten gold coins to redeem something else.

Even though ten gold coins weren't enough for the top ten items, there were still plenty of valuable things further down the prize list worth redeeming.

For example, Sato had previously been too rushed to get the Hidden Power TM from the black market, but it was available in this Game Hall's prize exchange.

He didn't know the market value of the TM, but at the Game Hall, it cost 50 silver coins, equivalent to 500,000 PokeDollars each.

Within Team Rocket's internal exchange system, this TM was also available but required 1,500 points to redeem.

While the point requirement wasn't extremely high, the TM was only accessible to those ranked at least squad leader or higher.

So, based on Team Rocket's redemption requirements, Sato considered the TM to be relatively rare, and 500,000 PokeDollars per copy seemed reasonable.

Ultimately, since all the coins were won with just twenty bronze coins, Sato didn't hesitate much. He spent three gold coins to obtain six copies of the Hidden Power TM (Ditto couldn't use TMs).

After securing some immediate-use items, Sato shifted focus to the next priority item on his list—a TM for the move Protect.

Though the Protect TM could typically only be used once, it's undeniably a crucial move in many situations, one that the majority of Pokémon can learn, with only a few exceptions.

Through countless battles in the wild, Sato had come to deeply appreciate the value of the Protect TM. Thus, without hesitation, he redeemed six of them, one for each Pokémon using the standard number of six Pokemon, at a price of ten silver coins per TM.

Continuing down the exchange list, Sato used forty silver coins to obtain an Everstone, a relatively low-value item. This Everstone was specifically for Nidoran, who had joined him shortly after he became a trainer and was still quite young.

Currently, Nidoran hadn't fully tapped into the potential of his current stage, and he could evolve as early as level 16.

To prevent an early evolution from cutting short his development, this Everstone would be very useful.

When Nidoran was defeated by Scyther, Sato decided to place the Everstone around his neck. It was small and had been polished into a comma-shaped gem, crafted into a necklace with some agate beads.

Nidoran loved his new Everstone necklace, and he spent a good part of the morning proudly showing it off to his teammates. Even the fashion-conscious Bellossom brought out her Miracle Seed and hinted to Sato that she'd like a similar necklace made from it.

After redeeming these three items, Sato still had six gold coins left. He decided to splurge, spending five of them on a Thunderbolt TM.

Since his upcoming journey would involve traveling across the ocean, teaching an Electric move to one of his Pokémon could provide extra safety.

He also had high hopes for Nidoran, and teaching him Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, and Flamethrower would significantly expand his future move set once he evolved into Nidoking.

If Nidoran could master these skills early, he would surely impress everyone when he eventually evolved.

With the last gold coin, Sato redeemed enough high-quality Pokémon food to last a team of six Pokémon for three months.

Having Ditto as a handy shape-shifter, he now viewed the Game Hall as a viable source of resources.

Finally, he sold his unused S.S. Anne luxury cruise ticket at a 150,000 PokeDollar premium to a businessman who urgently needed to travel to the Hoenn region.

After reviewing his resources, Sato took out a small device from his storage—a mini "Move Tutor" machine.

The Game Hall had given it to him free of charge with his purchase of the TMs, as a perk for spending ten gold coins.

This mini Move Tutor machine/Learning Machine (same thing) was a more compact, updated version compared to the outdated model he had seen in the underground market of Pewter City's Team Rocket base, though it worked just as effectively.
