Chapter 7 - Chapter 6: Shadows of Silence

After the divorce papers were signed, silence filled the space that once echoed with love and laughter. Alina's world felt like it had collapsed, but the gravity of the situation hadn't sunk in completely. Each day, she woke up to an unfamiliar emptiness, her heart aching with the realization that Aariz had truly let her go.

For days, she barely left her room. The memories of their time together haunted her relentlessly. The late-night conversations, the laughter, the plans they made for the future—all now seemed like fragments of a distant dream. Aariz's absence was a wound that refused to heal, and the silence in her life grew louder with every passing moment.

Zain, as always, was there. His presence, comforting and steady, provided her with the emotional support she desperately needed. He didn't push her to talk about Aariz or the divorce. He simply stayed by her side, a silent pillar of strength.

"Alina," Zain softly said one day, as he found her staring blankly out of the window. "You can't let this consume you."

She didn't respond immediately. Her mind wandered back to the countless moments she had with Aariz. She had devoted everything to their relationship—her time, her love, her soul. And now, it was gone.

"I don't know where to begin, Zain," Alina finally whispered, her voice trembling. "He was everything to me. How do I move on?"

Zain took a deep breath, struggling with his own emotions. He had loved Alina from afar, never confessing his feelings, knowing she belonged to Aariz. But seeing her like this, broken and lost, made his heart ache in ways he couldn't describe.

"You're stronger than you realize," Zain said firmly. "And I'll help you rebuild. But first, you need to find yourself again."

Alina didn't respond but a seed of determination was planted. It wasn't immediate, but Zain's words stayed with her. She knew she couldn't stay in this limbo forever. Slowly, she began to find her footing. She realized that she had to focus on herself, to rise from the ashes of her shattered marriage, and discover her own strength.

As weeks passed, Alina's relationship with Zain deepened, though it remained platonic. He was the one person who understood her pain without judgment. She began to consider his advice more seriously. Zain, though still deeply in love with her, made no moves to take advantage of her vulnerability. Instead, he encouraged her to think about her future, urging her to consider her untapped potential.

One evening, over a quiet dinner at his place, Zain broached the subject again. "Alina, I've been thinking. You have the skills and talent to do something incredible with your life. You've always wanted to work in business. Why not start now?"

She looked at him, surprised by his suggestion. "You think I can do it?" she asked, unsure.

"I know you can," he replied confidently. "You're smart, ambitious, and you've got more strength than you realize. This could be your chance to rise."

Alina mulled over his words for days. The idea of starting her own business seemed daunting, especially in the midst of her heartbreak. But the more she thought about it, the more she realized that this could be her way out of the darkness. She needed something to focus on, something to give her life meaning again.

One evening, she found herself standing before the mirror, staring at her reflection. The woman she saw was not the same woman who had been so deeply in love with Aariz. She was someone who had been hurt, but not broken. Slowly, determination filled her eyes.

It was time to rebuild her life.

Meanwhile, Aariz's life was taking an unexpected turn. He was with Layla now, but it didn't feel right. Layla was everything he thought he wanted—charming, bold, and assertive. But there was a hollowness in their relationship that he couldn't ignore. The spark he once had with Alina was missing. He found himself thinking of Alina more often than he would admit, wondering if he had made a terrible mistake.

But Layla wasn't one to let him dwell on regrets. She had her own plans, and Aariz was part of them. She kept him close, manipulating him subtly, ensuring that he wouldn't go back to Alina. But deep down, Aariz was restless. He knew something was off. Yet, he couldn't shake off the guilt that gnawed at him.

The divorce was final. Alina was no longer his, and yet, the thought of her haunted him. Every time he tried to move on, memories of her would pull him back. He hadn't meant for things to end this way. He never wanted to hurt her, but now, it was too late. Or was it?

---

As Alina began to work on her new business idea, she found herself gaining strength with each passing day. Zain was there, offering help and guidance, but Alina was determined to build something on her own. She threw herself into her work, finding solace in her ambition.

But in the quiet moments, late at night when she was alone, Aariz's absence still stung. She couldn't help but wonder what had gone so terribly wrong between them. She missed him, but she knew she couldn't go back.

Her heart had been shattered, but now it was time to piece it back together—on her terms.
